Do u feel like fursonas need a story to accompany them D: ?

When Lizeron was first created, he was a dominant, huge badass dragon and a protagonist in a story I was writing when i was 16. As years passed and I understood myself more and came to terms with it (so-so still working on that) I had decided to make him into a sona that expresses me in the fandom. Quite frankly, the only thing I can imagine Liz having different is his athletic build and his confidence in charming men without even thinking of consequences.
Lately tho, I keep feeling like I'd want a story for Lizeron. One that's inspired from life events but also from thoughts and problems that I come across with in real life, both mine and of others.
Does this seem weird? I mean, a fursona shouldn't really have a story other than the user's, at least in my point of view. Because if its a character you just use as a fursona, it's no longer "yourself"!

FA+

Though it would be fun to read one that have them either clean or sexy (though preferably not rapey).
If your Sona was more of a Character and not so much suppose to Represent you as an anthro character/This is me as a Dragon, then I think making a backstory and all of that is a way to give personality to the character if they are....well...not justy YOU as a dragon.
Frankly I love characters and sonas with a story to them. I like to sometimes PRETEND they are real in a way. But to do that they need personality which is achieved through stories or illustrations of what they do.
Answering the question, nah, they don't NEED it, but for some people like myself, I enjoy them :)
Though, it's not NEEDED per say
But if you feel like adding a story to yours, then go for it. Even if the greenie beanie has a fantastic backstory, it doesn't have to detach the sona from yourself. It's all in good fun. :3
Like my character Nox, he has a few of my traits, but in general has a completely separate life and story from me. And is not really my fursona, though he is my representative here I suppose. Though as I get art that stray more and more away from canon, I instead see him more as an actor that can play out any story I decide to put him in. He is no longer bound to be the Argonian thief living in the elder scrolls universe, and can instead live in modern or future setting as well.
If that makes any sense. And to answer your question, no you don't absolutely need a story, but it is something that can flesh him out a bit.
On my phone and tired so I have no idea what I'm talking about...
