Yeah, I think the line style and heavy shadows work with the overall messy scratchy texture of the piece, thats why the others dont work as well. Thank you for your input!

if you use this lining style it'd go best with that heavy black shading like the last image had, almost giving it an illustrated look

Good point, I've found that the softer shading just doesn't work with suck harsh lines. Thanks for your input! I'll experiment more with the heavy shadows.

how much would it cost to have you do one of my characters in that style in a nighttime scene? considering its experimental

It takes a little longer for this style, but it's also a little more looser and forgiving with smaller details, so I'd price it just the same as my regular shaded drawings. So $30-40 depending on the character and composition and $10 for a simple nighttime background scene. So no more than $50
