Dear Everyone: Stop fucking comparing things to cancer.

You've probably seen it before: "This post gave me cancer." "(x fandom) is cancer." Cancer, cancer, cancer, fucking thrown around all over the place without a motherfucking la-di-da.

Like, it's such an unbelievably fucking emotionally tone-deaf thing to do? To compare something obnoxious or upsetting to cancer? Why do you have to do this bullshit? Cancer isn't just something that bothers you or annoys you, it is literally a disease that ruins lives and damages things and people, sometimes beyond repair. I lost my grandmother to cancer last August and the lack of her presence is still affecting my family and I almost nine months later.

Hearing internet idiots compare dumb shit like popular fandoms (usually ones with bad reputations) or bad video games or webcomics or anything to cancer is just making me fucking boil over with sheer anger. I don't like Undertale or its obnoxious fandom any more than you do, asshat, but stop comparing it to the disease that killed my grandmother.

And I don't give a shit about "free speech". That just means the government can't tell you to shut up. It doesn't mean I can't tell you to shut up. If you use cancer (or, while we're at it, autism, or any other kind of disease or disorder) as an insult, I'd like to show you the fucking door, then kick your ass out of it so hard you won't be able to sit down for a fucking week. God, I'm sorry, I'm just so fucking mad right now.
