Star Fox Zero First Impressions

I gotta say from the start that it is not as bad as I kept telling myself it was going to be. And I gotta keep telling myself that I have only played the first 3 or so levels in single player and co-op mode, so it may differentiate as the levels go on but these are just my first impressions. First of all the graphics, though they aren't up to certain standards as something like PC gamers, but really what can satisfy those people graphics wise? The game is really colorful, crisp, and smooth in its appearance and I really can't say enough that it flows with very little to no lag from what I've experienced thus far. The sound, oh my god the sound is simply fantastic. Bear in mind that I'm talking about the sounds that are not the voices here, because that's something I've always considered voice acting to be a separate entity altogether when it comes to games. The all around sound of the game is really different from the last Star Fox game I played (Assault) but then again that game had bad vocal sound. The voice acting in there wasn't bad but the characters really sounded like they were being played back with a cassette tape player. Anywho SF Zero sounded crisp and polished and well put together.... Voice acting in here.... eh... i find it alright for the most part, its just you're typical SF babble, which has given us some unforgettable moments lol. Gameplay is pretty good for the most part... My main gripe is the helichopper thingy in the Zoness level. It's slow, sluggish, and often times I found myself pausing the game just so I can get my bearings in the level cuz I got turned around whenever I took damage and the thing wobbled around. I shall now dub the helichopper the "Wobblin Gobblin!" Aside from that, the other 2 levels played pretty decently and I got a kick out of playing Corneria especially. I gotta tell ya that I thought that this game was gonna suck balls, but I'm happy to say that It's good to be wrong sometimes. ^^
