So I have been reading and following certain countries (mostly in Europe) who have sought to ban porn, or limit the access to porn. Mainly under the guise of stating it creates hyper sexuality, encourages the rape and abuse of women blah blah blah
While some case of that may be true, the facts remains studies conducted in the US and AU both state with the increase of porn, the decrease of rapes and sexual assaults occur.
Even in America internet porn has contributed to a nice 13% drop in teen pregnancies.
Societies will have to learn that, the more suppress something the harder it comes out (just look a catholic priests, it hasn't really worked for them yet =p) .
I mainly wrote this because some artists or other people like to act all high and mighty when they don't draw porn or look at it, while that's fine , I have even had others look at work as me doing something "wrong" in my life, and you know I feel the exact opposite, I feel like erotic art is one thing I have done Right, and making people happy who enjoy it.
So really I just thought I would share my thoughts with you guys, perhaps see what you think.

Repression is really harmful.
I have encountered some non-smut inclined artists that seem to think they're better for never having... stooped to this level? I understand if it's not your thing, more money for those of us who aren't afraid to market it, but that's no reason to get hoity toity about it.
As an artist it's super lucrative and it's a good way to stretch your ability because you may be well versed in both sex and art, but man, sometimes putting those together is a real challenge, it's nothing like drawing your standard stuff! If it makes you happy, and it makes other people happy, that's really what counts.
I will never understand why people demonize sex, personally i think people should take there kids to a museum wuth those naked statues and paintings at least once a year.
The power elite demonize sex(…sexuality/porn/drugs/gender/race/anything) to distract us, while they rape us for more power and money, and to divert our focus with divisive claptrap so we cannot agree to come together with a violent revolution and throw their asses out of power.
And besides...... any amount of porn is preferable to raping someone. I'd rather give someone a TERABYTE of porn rather than leave them open to even TRYING to rape one person, regardless of age, or gender.
Then I was sent to Europe in the Army, and found out that there were relatively few limits on where porn was sold, and in specialty stores, pretty much EV-ER-Y-THING was available, at least in Germany and The Netherlands. Plus, prostitution was legal in both countries.
Quick! Someone notify the businesses spending over 100 million US dollars every year that they are wasting their money! It is all a hoax! Looking at images doesn’t motivate people to do things. Advertising doesn't work!
So obviously visual porn does not have any effect on its viewers either.
What these conservatives have repeatedly failed to demonstrate is that porn has any negative effects on its viewers whatsoever, or that there's any link between porn consumption and sexual abuse or violence. Actual research has shown quite the opposite result, generally indicating that the more open and embracing of sexuality a culture is, the less issues that culture has with rape, sexual abuse, and discrimination against sexual minorities or along gender lines.
Its not that porn doesn't inspire people to do stuff, it's just that what it inspires them to do is masturbate or try new things with their consenting partners, not to go out and rape women.
