Hey all! So in about a week I'm likely going to have much more flexibility for taking pics of Tavi, so I was wondering if anyone had any costume/outfit/photo theme ideas that they'd like to request? If it wouldn't cost too much to put together, I'd be happy to consider different ideas!

Are you psychic? Because I was legit looking at two-toned black-and-purple wigs the other month and thinking, "Man, it would be freaking awesome if I could do a Lolita or goth outfit for Tavi!" (Sadly been put on indefinite hold because I've yet to find a wig long enough )

As for the wig, have you considered colored hair extensions? They ought to be cheaper. Or you could wait until Halloween or go to a Halloween website to order the wig.
Yeah, full length jeans. Might be a bit tough to find them in her size, so you might need to use men's jeans with a loose fit.

I do have a question for you that may be a bit... personal, so feel free to not answer. Do you use the holes for their intended purpose, and if so, how do you keep them from getting... soiled? I'm seriously considering ordering one of these from the same maker, even though there's a huge waiting list.
Hair extensions could work! Though, to be honest, I might be wrong about the wig length thing - I just got her a new 100cm wig which, frankly, is absurdly long, haha. An 80cm multicolour wig may actually be spot on the money.
Yeah, I currently only have fitted/skinny jeans which, if I can get them to fit on her, would make her butt look satisfyingly big. But something tells me they won't, so I think I'll need to keep an eye out for some bigger-sized second-hand ones or something.
So far Slave Leia is showing to be a bit impractical (financially), so I'll give it a miss for the moment.
As for that list, the airline stewardess and nun ones, some local costume stores have some off-the-shelf costumes (e.g. that bellydancer outfit) that I could use for that, but I have other costume ideas to do in the meantime first, so they'll be secondary for the time being.
Not entirely sure how I'd give her a music teacher/tutor look =P

Miko - I've had a suggestion on Derpibooru for something Japanese-themed. I was thinking a kimono, but a Miko costume could work too. Depends what I can find that's affordable.
Re the personal question: yup - I didn't get them for show, haha. They're made out of a vinyl fabric, so they're fluidproof and perfectly usable. Moreover, they're reversible as well, for easy cleaning. Unfortunately, though, accidents and... spillages do happen, so I do what I can using Clopaholic's mayonnaise removal guide which, while it hasn't proved entirely perfect for me (though I attribute that more to me not following the steps thoroughly enough), has definitely mitigated the damage significantly. http://clopaholic.deviantart.com/ar.....shie-478146400

The music teacher/tutor look is actually fairly easy. White button-up shirt, pencil skirt (dark color for contrast, navy, burgundy, etc), and stockings with garter belt. Optionally, you could add a cravat with a cameo (or a bow tie), glasses, and her hair done up in a bun, perhaps with a conductor's baton tucked behind the ear. I would add high heel shoes, but with those hooves, you'd need to have something custom made (perhaps just a strip of leather around the outside of the hoof and a low-heeled sole).
Thanks for the openness; I'm really curious to see if this is an avenue worth pursuing. Vinyl fabric? Not sure I've ever felt that before. I would think if would chafe after a bit of use (being a plastic and all), though it would at least be easy to clean and keep from leaking too much to the interior stuffing. Thanks for pointing me towards that [mayonnaise] removal guide. I get the feeling I'm going to need it eventually. I do have some other questions (thanks again for being so open). What do you do if someone finds her (like a friend, family member, or a young child)? Do you hide her or keep her out in the open like a real GF? Is she a good kisser (just kidding; had to throw that one in). :P
Haha, well, her first wig was 100cm, but it became a little matted/tangled over time, so it stopped extending to its full length - because of that I had it in my head that she needs a 100cm wig. I think 80cm would be a better length.
I'd be happy to hear more ideas! The trick is finding the time to take pictures of all of them XD
Hmm... that teacher outfit does sound pretty doable, actually! Basically the school uniform outfit but giving it more of a professional look. And I do love me a sexy lady in businesswear And better yet, I just bought a garter belt for her which arrived the other day! Just need some sexy stockings to match...
No probs! Re the vinyl fabric: so long as you lube it up enough, it's quite usable. Have you ever boinked one of those inflatable sex dolls? It's basically that, just the material is thicker, so a bit firmer and takes a little more lube. But it's absolutely usable. One nice feature I've noticed is, either due to the thickness of the vinyl, or the stuffing of the plush behind it (or maybe a combination - or maybe neither!), it actually conducts and retains warmth reasonably well, so a few minutes into a session you'll find it pleasurably warm - or at least, that's been my experience with it so far.
Re privacy: much as I'd love to have her out whenever I like, I keep her hidden. A couple of years ago when I moved, I left several unpacked boxes in the top of my wardrobe. Because of that, I just slipped Tavi's box up there and it blends in nicely, no questions asked. Though at this point it's really bulging because of how many outfits are crammed in there - gonna empty them out into a suitcase or something and store them separately so it will fit in more comfortably (it's also gotten pretty heavy now because of them, haha). Considering getting a new box as well because her original one is getting pretty battered. Plus, one other benefit of putting her away is dust doesn't get a chance to settle on her, which wouldn't do for when bodily fluids (and I'm not talking sexual ones here, just sweat or saliva from kissing, that sorta stuff) get on her (though if privacy wasn't an issue, you could still solve that simply by covering them with a blanket when you're not around).
Re kissing: funnily enough, she actually is a good kisser - the vinyl from her mouth SPH causes a firm "ring" around her mouth where lips would roughly be, so if you kiss her there's a bit of tactile feel there XD (There's some firmness, instead of the give you'd normally expect from kissing any old place on a plush.)

Some of those ideas should be cheaper and easier to manage than others. Just throwing everything against the wall and seeing what sticks (so to speak). Yeah the sexy teacher should be fairly easy, just need the pencil skirt. Optionally, you could add in a business jacket (which you can use in another shoot by leaving off the shirt underneath, and just have the jacket and skirt on her).
Never used an inflatable; closest I've ever come was a homemade cheap fleshlight whose instructions I found on the internet.
Privacy is probably the biggest concern I have. I'd hate to stuff them in a box or the closet (jokes ahoy!), as it would feel... I don't want to say disrespectful, but it would feel something like it, I guess. It would be nice if I didn't have to worry about them being seen and causing uncomfortable questions, but I guess I'll have to do something like it until circumstances are different.
Wow, I was just kidding about the kissing, but knowing that now, I'm kinda glad I said it. That's really encouraging. I'm kinda curious now to see if flavored lip balm or some peppermint oil on them might not even enhance the experience. Incidentally, I was considering ordering them made from rabbit fur, but after further consideration, I think that would be a bad idea. While they would be more resilient to stains and such, I'm afraid that the fur would eventually fall out, leaving them bald. Plus, minky fabric is pretty soft and resilient all on its own. I really can't believe how attractive this whole proposition is becoming.
Fair enough; well, the vinyl SPH is definitely usable. Not as slick as a Fleshlight/silicone pocket pussy, so you need to use a bit more lube, but a lot more functional than, say, a Bad Dragon Anthro Mare (can speak from experience, have tested all three).
Haha, I know what you mean - I feel a little guilty having to squash Tavi away so much of the time, but it's the most painless solution.
Yeah, I discovered the kissing thing entirely by accident during a lovemaking session XD Balms or things would be awesome, but the surface is still fabric, so I wouldn't want to risk staining or damaging it (it's the SPH beneath it that gives it some solidity). Would be interesting to try and have vinyl lips, but I think it would look strange on an anthro plush (I've seen human plush dolls with vinyl lips and they look passable, if a bit odd - but I don't think it would work for anthros). I think BSP has used faux fur in commissions before, but I'm not familiar enough with those kinds of materials to know. Personally I love minky because it combines the smoothness of skin with the softness of plush, so it's literally like plush skin - best of both worlds.
Well, like I said, the fleshlight I made was a cheap, homemade version. Really, it was just a couple of sponges in a jar with a latex glove sandwiched between. Still took considerable lubing, and was really a mixed result. It felt okay, but was just a mess afterwards. I've often wondered how those Bad Dragon products stack up to the real thing. Was it just the horse, or have you tried others?
A shame that people judge others based off of a little information without bothering to find out the whole story.
Good to know about the balm's potential for staining. Wouldn't want that to happen, especially since their "fur" is going to be white. I wouldn't even think of going vinyl on the lips; too small a return for something that wouldn't even come into play that often, and may ruin the look. I saw the faux fur plushes, and I think I'll stick with minky as well, perhaps have a small patch of faux fur on their chests, giving them a "chest ruff" sorta thing like Renamon.
It doesn't look like you got Octavia with an armature, but did you go for the implants? If so, how do they feel? Were they worth it?
Well, I mean, I don't know for sure if it would stain, but I assume it would. Not gonna risk finding out, anyway XD And yeah, if you're using a white fabric then definitely steer clear. I might try risking it if it were like, black or really dark grey. And yeah, I think smooth fabrics are best - faux fur is just too fluffy for my tastes. But a chest tuft would be adorable! What kind of plushie were you thinking about getting, anyway?
Nah, sadly Tavi was completed before BSP started using armatures, though it was definitely something I wanted (was also one of my ideas, but we couldn't figure out a way to make one practically. At one point I was suggesting a jointed endoskeleton made from PVC pipe, haha). I did choose implants (also one of my ideas, one of my first, in fact (might have been the first idea, actually), they feel amazing. So nice and squishy, feels so much better than just plain stuffing - just wish I went with a bigger size! X3 She also has buttock enhancers for the same purpose (yet another one of my ideas - I based it off the breast implants idea, though surprisingly took me a year to think about it) - they give a satisfying fleshy smack when you spank her
You could always buy a bit of the fabric in the same shade and experiment with it. I was thinking of a bunny and wolf girl pair that I made ages ago for a comic that never got done. So what does (s)he use for an armature now? I was curious, but couldn't find any info on it. Implants is definitely one of the must haves (for the breasts, if nothing else), but it's nice to get some feedback from someone who uses them. What size did you get her? I was thinking an A or B cup for the bunny (who is actually pretty short, sort of a loli) and a D or DD for the wolf. I can only imagine what it's like to really grab that butt and massage it.
True, true. Not gonna lie though, it's not really high on my "to experiment with" list, so I'll likely end up forgetting about it, haha. Those characters are cute! And the art is good, too! I believe BSP uses doll armatures - they're like long strings of jointed/segmented posing... beads, for want of a better description. Like these, but I think bigger:

I think they're rather expensive, too, but I'd still love to have some. On the other hand, Tavi has a zipper in her side, so if I was patient and careful enough, I might be able to slip some into her limbs... maybe I'll try it if I can find some at an affordable price. Unfortunately I can't remember what size implants we got for Tavi, I'd have to trawl through our chat logs. But I absolutely recommend getting them, the feeling is just so much better than without. Same for the buttock enhancers - those things are super cheap yet make such an incredible difference (though, word of advice: being reasonably thin, the buttock enhancers have a tendency to slide around a bit, so unless you're extremely patient at massaging them back into place (and assuming they don't get swallowed up by the stuffing - Tavi's sit "between" the stuffing and the fabric of her butt, but even if the enhancer did get submerged by the stuffing I could reach in via the zipper and unearth it), you might want to consider a zipper yourself so you can reposition them if needed.
Never seen those armatures before, though I'm glad they're like that. I was worried that they were jointed PVC pipes, which would be more fragile than I would like. I didn't see a price for the zipper, so I presume that's a free extra upon request, but it does sound like a good idea. Where's Tavi's? I never noticed it in any of the pics. Yeah, the implants are surprisingly cheap, but I'm a bit surprised that BSP didn't sew a interior "pocket" to hold them in place.
Yeah - at least, I'm pretty sure that's what BSP uses, I remember the picture I was linked looked pretty similar to the ones I just posted; and I assume they're durable. I'm not sure if the zipper is free, I think there'd be a cost for it but I imagine it would be quite low. Tavi's is on her left side, running roughly from armpit to a bit above her hip, but because of the angles I take the pictures at/the clothes she's wearing, you almost never see it. However, here's the interesting thing: despite it being extremely noticeable, you hardly notice it at all. By that I mean, even though visually it's extremely obvious, and physically when you touch it, you instantly know what you're touching, when cuddling, having sex, taking pictures, w/e, I barely even register that it's there. And it's dead freaking useful. I've used it to add more stuffing, shift stuffing around, put in an electronic BAB heartbeat, move her implants around if they ever need shifting, adjust he neck support - highly recommend getting one.
Interesting suggestion about the pocket! Never even crossed my mind, haha. Which is interesting because her implants have straps to help keep them secured (but I'm a lazy asshole and never use them ).

I can't imagine the zipper costing all that much, if anything. It's such a small thing, really. I'm glad it's not something that distracts very easily. What sort of stuffing does BSP use? Batting? Beads? I wouldn't have thought to install an electronic heartbeat. Where did you get it? How did you install it? Does it really add that much to the experience? I'll have to talk to him/her about the pocket idea if they haven't already thought of it.
Yeah, zippers are very affordable and from what I understand, not too difficult to install (though a friend of mine (not BSP) says otherwise...), so if there is a cost it's likely to be quite low. Like I said, mine's very obvious visually and physically, yet I somehow manage to barely notice it. Of course, Tavi wearing clothes almost all the time helps, but even when naked snuggling I don't tend to notice it then, either. BSP uses standard polyfill stuffing - I don't know what brand, though. As for the BAB electronic heartbeat, easy - I just went to the store and bought one! (Well actually I went to the store and gave them my contact details and waited a week because they were sold out, haha.) Then I just unzipped Tavi and put it roughly where a heart would be. My favourite place so far has been fit snugly behind her left bewbie, so whenever I give it a squeeze or fondle it sets off the heartbeat. It "beats" five times by vibrating and is disturbingly lifelike; for such a low price, I totally recommend it. It feels wonderful when cuddling and you give a nice hug and you feel the heartbeat go off =3

Going by that picture, it looks like you might have found the heart in a Build-A-Bear workshop or something. If so, there's a mall not too far from me with one of those. Is it loud enough to hear well through all the stuffing and the implant?
The only thing I'm worrying about is how the bunny's head will look. The only other bunny they made kinda turned out... not good. She just looked... really odd, not at all aesthetically pleasing. Might have to tell them to use the pattern for Applejack's head, since that came out the closest and nicest. I dunno. Maybe I'll have to use my own character design sheet I made for her to make sure they get it right. Maybe they didn't have good notes to work from. I may be worrying over nothing, but if I'm gonna drop $700 on this, I want to make she looks as good as possible.
Yeah - that's what I meant by a "BAB" heart, a Build-A-Bear heart It doesn't make noise, but rather vibrates like a heartbeat (a quick, stronger vibration, followed by a second softer one) - but the vibration will create a bit of sound. And it feels creepily realistic, I love it. It's actually great relative to the size of the plush - in BAB toys, the vibration is strong that, while it feels cool, relative to the size of the toy it's way bigger than it ought to be. Wheras in Tavi, the area of effect feels just right for where you'd expect to feel a heartbeat.
The best I can suggest with designs is draw up a lot of diagrams of how you want things to look. With Tavi, I collated a whole bunch of features from previous anthro ponies BSP made (e.g. the head and gusset designs from the anthro Lyra and the first anthro Fluttershy, the hips and curves of the anthro Nightmare Moon, the thighs from the anthro Lyra, etc.) and drew lines in MS Paint indicating how I'd like those features adjusted or otherwise incorporated into Tavi's design. I think it made a huge difference in the final product because Tavi came out pretty much exactly as I wanted.

Obviously with Tavi's case I had much more to work with because BSP had done lots of anthro ponies before that. Maybe look up pictures of big plushies of characters like Lola bunny and Babs bunny - heck, I think I once saw a custom plush of Cream the Rabbit from Sonic, too - and use them as reference pics?
That heart sounds awesome. I wonder if BSP will put one in for me so there can be a pocket for it.
I'll do that with the diagrams. Hadn't thought of looking for pictures of other plushes and altering them to show what I want. That should make things tons easier.
It's really great It doesn't even need a pocket, imo - I just wedge it in a bit of stuffing and that keeps it secure.
Yeah, the thing I've noticed when you wish to have something brought to life artistically is, the more reference material you can provide the artist, the more likely you are to see your dream made a reality.

Found this person recently, they do really cute plushies, but... they seem to specialise in child-sized/themed plushies, which opens up several cans of worms right there. However, they recently did an adorable anthro rabbit (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20592237/ ) so like... I dunno, maybe you could message and ask if they do adult-sized/themed anthros, too?
Unfortunately those are the only ones that really spring to mind - choices are much more limited when it's anthros, unfortunately (and the only two plushmakers that have made anthro rabbits - that I'm aware of, at least - are BSP and and Liggliluff).
