Hot damn. That's actually a really insightful answer. I tend to ask this question a lot on these types of journals just to see the response, and yours has got to be my most favorite one. Well played Roy
Because dragons are too mainstream, yo!
... Heh; in the end it was probably fairly arbitrary, but a lot of factors went into it to some extent. I love animals with unusual abilities, I like reptiles in general, I forgot about the existence of the mimic octopus at the time, I loved the idea of prehensile tails and long sticky tongues (even if I didn't really plan on using it). Lots of little things!
What about you? Why a cat/corvid?
The tiger just sort of 'happened'. Back from when I very first started the furry bit and did so through Furcadia, picking a feline character with colors that just 'looked cool' at the time. Enter black furred, green striped cat.
Bird came along from deciding that I wanted a "Me" character. A mixture a traits from who I am and who I'd like to be, along with a species that's native to my living area, and itself has traits and stereotypes that further synergise with my own, plus at the time there were very, very few birds in the sizeplay sector of the fandom.

And don't you worry, all I need is a VR headset or a vat of glowing green goop.
