So, here goes.

Meer Raynes / Apex:

The name Meer I had for awhile, always wanting to make a character with the name, and originally for a Lynx too. However I soon found myelf wanting an android lynx instead and thus the term Apex came into play (example being Apex hunter). Meer is meant to be THE ultimate fusion, a near pefect imitation of organic life (with the potential to evolve further into a more ultimate synthetic), thus making her the "Apex".

Sigma:

Sigma's name came from the Mega Man X villain of the same name, one who despite being literally destroyed at the end of every game, returned in a new form just as/if not more powerful. I chose this name for her because of two reasons, the first having gone through the Greek alphabet I chose Sigma as it was the one that best suited her and two, given the nature of the villain she is named after it fits the idea of perpetual evil. The concept that no matter how hard you fight or attempt to change things, evil will always be there, darkness will always return.

Misha / The Eldritch Lynx:

The name didn't come into play for awhile, originally Misha was just an unnamed feline meant for more adult situations until I began fleshing out her character. With the term "Eldritch Lynx" in place, as she was a giant tentacled destroyer with occult origins (and still somewhat is), however after commissioning writer Desmond Fallout to make a story based on the sequences her design came from, the name Misha came to life: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13317287/

Cassandra Lucrezia North / Tau

Cassandra's name came from the initials CLN, which was not actually inspired by something. Instead her name originally was Lucrezia, a name I kept flip-flopping on who it would belong to, even considering giving it to Meer at one point. However I soon decided she needed more to her name and began messing with initials, thus her full name was born. Although Cassandra has yet to recieve any super identity or callsign, but I have settled on the Greek letter Tau. This letter once represented life and ressurection (a good counter to Sigma!) and infact, a character by the name of Tau was supposedly sentenced to death by one called Sigma at somepoint.
