Weekly Update: Father's Day, Writing Routines
9 years ago
General
Alright, let's do this!
Not much to report this week, since I've had work and tax filings to worry about. However, it seems like these early mornings are when my furry porn muse shows up. Which is a perfect segue to a bit of advice for other writers out there:
*Puts on some glasses to lend him a greater look of authority as a grey-muzzle fur*
If you are serious about your craft, it is important to set aside some time every day to work on it. And it is important that it be the SAME TIME OF DAY each day. Our brains love routine. Going to bed at the same time every night, you start to become naturally tired around that time after a while. It's the same with writing.
Dedicating a specific time of day to writing will, over time, teach your brain to warm up its creative centers in anticipation. You will find your ideas flow more naturally, and you will experience less writer's block.
Also, adding this time to your daily routine will ensure you make steady progress on your writing.
*Removes glasses*
So there you have it, boys. I'll be hammering away at your Father's Day gift and uploading the other completed stories over the next couple of weeks. As always, I'm happy to answer questions or messages.
Stay good, guys!
