you should be surprised if someone is not stealing using art. Shit like F-list, it's used as profile art saying that "they'll remove it if the artist asks them to", but the odds of the artist happening to find that page is comically low so it's just an insulting statement to add, like it lets them get away with a dick move - they should presume from the start they don't have permissions.

e621 lets you take any pic and use it as an avatar too, etc. and practically any site with avatars and shit lets people use them. It's just how it is and will always be, beacuse it's ahrd to find every case of it, and it's hard to follow up on. You can whine about as much legal action as you want, but that doesn't happen. 'copyright law boo hoo' jsut means they, even if you were in the same area, and could prosecute them..would do absolutely nothing because the worst punishment would be for them to remove it. Odds are they're somewhere else in the world and quoting legal action is just a fucking joke.

This won't stop either, since that's just how law works and how internet works. Shit's hard to find and even harder to take any action again that people would actually give two shits about. All it does is make you look all whiny in the end.

It's just what is is. Art can and will easily be stolen, there's no easy way to see where people are using it, and there is practically no way to persecute someone for the misuse. I always giggle a little when people threaten legal action on stuff like tracing, art theft yada yada. It's not how law/internet works, and it's just comical when people fail to be realistic.

how the law works is that I already taken down Three profiles with my art work, how the law works is that anyone making money out of copyrighted work can be sued. I know how the copyright laws work and just because it's the bloody internet doesn't mean that poeple should stop act like children and moan that their asses getting sued for making money off other poeple's hard work without any shame.
