Everything was going fine until hell swept over. Some dipshit got elected President and suddenly hate became the new norm. He was a real strict religious type. He didn't make hate crimes legal, but he did strongly encourage people beating the shit out of anyone from say...the LGBT community or anyone who wasn't the same skin color or didn't speak American English. How he got elected, no one really knows. But he nearly had missiles raining down on our heads, but then wars broke out. It was as if he controlled hate itself.

And then the Contracts happened. handfuls of us chosen to stop the corrupted leaders in our cities. Here, in Spokane, there was 4 of us. Me, Margaret Jones, Amira Smith, Ron Kingston, Marlow Thomson. But...we weren't just any heroes. I'm a lesbian and married with two adopted kids. Amira is a transexual with three kids from before her surgery. Kingston is gay and Marlow is bisexual. We are the LGBT community. And let me tell you, we don't get along all that well. I think Kingston is full of himself. Marlow is...the bad egotistical where he can do no wrong and everyone should suck is dick including me and my wife. And Amira...eh, she's alright. Quiet, though. Seems terrified of this whole thing.

To make matters worse, my wife HATES mutants after her family was killed by them. Yeah. So, me becoming a mutant wasn't a walk in the cake. It took me six months and lots of crime fighting and a stumbling upon to see her after I got my powers. She took it weller than expected....better, than...
