Starting a Weasyl Account

Don't worry everyone, i'm not leaving FA, but i am starting to slowly move my stories and commissioned art to Weasyl. I have been a member of this site since December of 2005 and over the years have made the acquaintance of a lot of great people. I don't want to leave, and don't intend to, but i am dissatisfied with the way Furaffinity has been run over the years. I have never voiced my complaints and wont start doing so now, but this hacking incident was the last straw. So i am branching out to other websites, starting with Weasyl. The hacking of Furaffinity has shown me it doesn't pay to put all your eggs in one basket. I only lost three submissions, i was lucky. My heart goes out to those who were severely affected by this fiasco.

Weasyl has had their downtimes, too, and that's handling a tiny fraction of the traffic that FA gets. It's not easy to keep a big, high-traffic site running without any downtime, especially when you've got malicious people actively trying to do harm. It's good to have more than one repository (that's why I pay to maintain my own website).
I agree with ya Mark. Any site is going to have its problems, it just seems like FA has more than others. Maybe i see it that way because i'm on here more than Weasyl or DA. In any case, by spreading my stuff to other places i wont have to worry so much about losing anything. I also purchased an external hard drive to keep backups. Not taking any chances anymore.
