#1 to 7 and 8.1 users upgrading without permission: this is BS Windows 10 won't upgrade itself unless you accidentally press Upgrade tonight button on that annoying notification. FUCKING READ!
#2 Upgrades are ALWAYS known to cause issues and crashes no matter what version of Windows its been upgraded. Clean Install is advised.
#3 American vendors of PC's are having the most issues with Windows 10 so far make sure its version 1511 which is the stable one. (Also preinstalled bloatware makes the system unstable)
#4 performance of Windows 10 is relative depending on the drivers most suggested after Upgrading reinstall the ORIGINAL FACTORY DRIVERS. (It outperforms 7 in every aspect, less resources used as long as the correct drivers are installed)
#5 Windows Update's rollouts are ALWAYS every Tuesday and applies to ALL WINDOWS versions Including 7.
#6 Windows 10 has a tool on the MS website that allows you to block certain updates or drivers on your PC just like 7 used to have the Hide update option.
#7 Fastboot is known to cause issues sometimes this is easily disabled in control panel
#8 This Windows 10 hysteria is just a massive panic of users that are NOT experienced with how to properly install an operating system in the first place.
#9 Windows 10 Build 10240 is the buggiest Version 1511 is much more stable.
#10 Windows 10 takes up MUCH less disk space than its predecesors (Ver 1511)
#11 I've been using Windows 10 since the early betas. and have used 7 at the same time with all updates enabled and no issues so far.
If you have any questions please ask someone THAT ACTUALLY KNOWS HOW TO WORK WITH THIS.
I'm out!

I'm out!
Plus like I mentioned some things will not work or take more effort to make the program work than on previous windows programs
And what do you mean by drivers.
The whole lack of clearing up with the Win10 ordeal is pretty annoying, although Microsoft is still losing steadily. Win10 looks far more UI-friendly to me than 8.1, and honestly I'd gladly use it. Good thing though, that ever since I formatted my laptop, I never got the notification for the upgrade again. Don't know why but it's good.
As of now I'm soon getting into Linux though, so Win10 will have to wait kekeke.
DAMN RIGHT IT IS!!!! I LOVE IT ALREADY!! <3333 I also wore proudly an Ubuntu and a Creative Commons stickers on my netbook now X3 I'm well on my way to become an IT friend too!
I see, I guess I haven't =P But I will probably revert back to 7 in this laptop, although I'm not sure if it will manage. Don't want to have two rigs with 10 xD
Yeah of course you do! You need to grow big <3
Am I correct in assuming most folks who have had issues were likely those who upgraded, not those who bought a computer already built with 10 in mind? If not, are there certain things you know of that are more likely to cause trouble that maybe I should avoid when shopping?
Am glad to hear you can block certain updates since that was one of the big complaints I was hearing was people claiming you couldn't do that. Is it just harder to find or something?
As for update blocking there is a tool for this that Microsoft themselves released. Windows 10 doesn't have the feature built in. but it works. you can also make Windows not install driver updates its somewhere in the settings (this is the most troublesome thing because universal drivers often don't work with the device you have) but Windows 7 and 8.1 drivers work just as fine.
Will have to make sure I find and download the update blocking tool definitely.
So it sounds like I am probably just going to have a period of overlap where I still use the old laptop until I get the bloatware and settings raked through on the new one. :) Thanks for the help!
There is another option for drivers specifically let me know when you get your system so I can assist you in everything I can.
also Toshiba is really good. Tho depending on how you use your system the preinstalled bloatware might or not cause problems but its always better to have a clean up ;3
