FN does look neat! But I have no quarrel with FA~ I think what happened to the site this last time was really awful ( the security breach and attackers ) and am really not sure why folks are angry at FA. ; ^ ; Shouldn't we be upset someone tried to hurt it?

It is, but anymore every site is getting attacked. Frankly I'm surprised it took this long for this massive of a hit to FA on the security front, but that's why this is my weakest front that has no helpful ways to hit any of my major accounts (I don't even use my primary email for here, but that's just compartmentalizing all my furry stuff to one email account). Unfortunately, most fandoms have this problem but this one seems to be experts at it, everyone tends to go zero to drama in 2.8 seconds.

That's very true~ Actually, in my experience out of all the fandoms I'm a part of or am aware of furries are the most mistreated and misunderstood. ; ^ ; We're also the most quick to dramatize things I feel~ Sad but true! Whenever folks ask I always put it as "we're just passionate!" ^ ^

I can agree with you on being the most misunderstood and mistreated. It's frustrating. It's also why I try to stay calm about it all because giving entertainment to those doing the poking just makes it worse. I wish I knew a good answer on how to fix things, but c'est la vie.

But I am so prepared for this drama festival!

Furries used to get verbally bashed all the time in front of me while I was in college~ All the while I slide further down in my chair not saying anyhingEven one of my teachers was warning us about these people called furries because of an "article" she read on the internet. ; ^ ; But sent her a very honest email about it and called her out on her behavior as a teacher and gave her facts based on the surveys our community holds each year~ Boom. > x <

Actually, a lot of my compartmentalizing furry came from High School, where two of my friends would randomly hate on furries (not knowing I was one) so I learned real quick to keep my mouth shut. This stuck for a long time until college, when I was about to go to Wild Nights for my first con and roommate asked questions, noting I wasn't talking about what kind of con I was going to. Said that if it was a steampunk con or something he couldn't get me to shut up about it, and so he started guessing until he figured out I was a furry (he knows me too well that a pause was all he needed). That was it, he was mostly surprised I hid it. A few other situations like and I realized, people were poking more because I hid it.

Bah, now I treat it like any other fandom I'm interested in. Work I don't talk much about fandoms, outside of work I don't terribly try to hide it. Have taken to wearing my con t-shirts out in public (Oklacon 2011 shirt gets more comments than any other shirt I own) and I haven't heard a thing since.

And realizing it, last time I heard people bashing furries when there wasn't a concentration of furs or online was at college. XD I think we pick up habits from being surrounded by people who have WAY too much time on their hands and are more worried about what others are doing than what's going on in their own life.
