Im still rather amused by the fact that FN has a Keyword blocker, so you can literally avoid the CP....but unless they ban it like FA, people suddenly hate them despite all this PRAISE thy gave the place. lol
What I find disgusting is the people that threaten FN. We all know a migration is less likely to happen and yet all of them are showing fingers and what not about "remove CP so we can join your site, you must listen to the majority". As if they paid the site or have any actual power over it.
We have seen the FA version that didn't have CP on it. And I think weasel still has tumbleweeds rolling around. It's like the furry myspace.
Yeah. I agree with you. People are too passionate on the issue and are not separating fantasy from reality.. or rather they're simply hating on people who have such taboo fantasies. One bit of irony is that a rather popular artist had mentioned she did not want her work to be associated with CP yet she draws bestiality. While the two subjects are obviously different they are both very, very much hated on by the current status quo.
In any event they will probably side with the vocal majority on the matter because the site is trying to establish a strong foothold in the fandom and has the potential to take a serious bite out of FA traffic which is a good thing given various issues here. Sad thing there is a technological solution to it but these sort hate that type of content so much they just want it flat out banned. I'm still trying to find the law that says depictions of furry cub porn is illegal in the EU which I do find hard to fathom given bestiality is still legal in some countries over there. What I believe it actually is is some laymen people who fancy themselves as lawyers took an interpretation of the law meant to defend against computer generated imagery involving photoshopping a kid's head onto a twink's naked body. However, I would not be surprised if the UK banned furry cub porn because come on.. those crazy people do everything they can to ban porn all together. But the entire EU? I find that hard to swallow.
But yeah this notion that even fake people have rights and that the "age" of a fictional character actually matters even from a legal standpoint shows how ridiculous this PC movement has become. Those sort are so obsessed with their triggers that they're even trying to protect non-existent victims. It's sheer madness. You can kill a kid in art but god forbid but the moment they have sexual relations they're flipping the fuck out.
I hope those at FN though do realize that this is the same crap that happened 5-6 years ago when cub porn was banned from FA. It was here for about 5 years.. no problems until the new bloods came in and raised a stink and Neer caved in. Most people I would argue do not give a shit and would be happy enough with a technical solution to allow people to block it. I see content that offends me all the time but hey... I'm an adult. Once in a great while I post a criticism of the work but most of the time I'll ignore it as proper adults do and move on. Others have as much a right to self expression as I do no matter how offensive that content may be to someone else. The only logical exception would be hate art toward an individual as that type of art is purely meant to harass someone when posted somewhere they know the targeted individual will likely come across it.
At the end of the day I'm just REALLY fucking sick and tired of people and their damn triggers influencing policy. They've already shown they're willing to praise these people at FN but turn on them the moment they do not jump when they say jump. It's a furry art site that allows controversial content such as gore, rape, etc... no reason not to allow it all. If it makes the site illegal to access for people in the UK.. oh fucking well. The UK government needs to get it's head out of it's ass and get with the times. They're the closest thing we have in the West to a nation like that depicted in Orwell's 1984. :P
The irony here is the UK has one of the strongest furry communities :P When I first joined the fandom as an artist, I always thought the main furry source was the US, how wrong I was. There's plenty of UK furs that have been around longer than I have, mid-30s and above on the age range.
While I don't like CP, that's just my personal taste. At least the UK government hasn't blocked FA yet, though would not be surprised if it happened.
Yeah they really need to knock this excessive regulating crap off and focus the litigation/bannings purely on content that was produced by hurting people such as actual CP, not some low-rate drawing a random internet artist did with a fictional character. Fantasy and expressing those fantasies. It was like that nonsense where the UK government tried banning unconventional sex acts such as face sitting in porn productions. The very notion that even drawing a fictional character can land you in legal trouble is something I'd expect from the likes of China, not the West. Inkbunny so far doesn't appear to be banned in the UK at least so that's something I guess.
On this matter i speak up because it's a matter of artistic freedom and personal freedom.
I usually just shut up about my opinion normally cause i know what kind of hate this political correct world brings towards people like me.
All in all, never be silent over a issue you think is worth fighting for, even if you personally might not like it.
Something everyone should know seeing it will end up affecting everyone before too long.
