Right. Hello, and welcome back to the many 'new' watchers! Normally I'd go to your pages and thank you individually, but there's a ton of you and I assume all of you are rewatching on new accounts instead of actually new. I apologize if this is wrong!

I am currently not planning to move to another site- I have too many things posted here that I would want to bring over, and although I have copies of all the description writeups for my uploads saved, it'd still be significant work to transfer over and we've established quite clearly that I can't even keep up with maintaining one FA gallery, much less multiple sites' worth. I know the new kid on the block has an auto-importer, but their UI is in alpha and literally can't scroll through more than a few pages of gallery items at a time without starting to show repeats or skip items entirely (thus earning itself a spot in my art site tier list between Twitter and Tumblr, which is a position I never expected to even exist) so I'm gonna let the devs work on that a bit more before I consider moving over.

I am planning to wait a little longer before uploading anything further, to give more people a chance to recover their account or decide to make a new one. Also lazy.

I think that's most of the news for now?

well at least you see reason, leaving if you are an artist of some note is rather short sighted I think, alot of people say they are leaving, then always come back when they realise they aren't making as much money as they were. I can understand the frustration of FA having issues multiple times a year, but thats just how it is when the sites so large, no other site will ever get as big as FA inside the fandom unless it does something actually different and better.

I do hope everyone doesn't leave anyway lol, always a shame when an artist you love does the whole "I'm leaving thing", makes me lose alot of respect for them.

what?
Money isn't really involved in my case, I don't take commissions and never have. And I wouldn't hold it against an artist for leaving for moral/security concerns, then coming back because they can't actually afford to rely entirely on other sites because commissioners didn't go over too.
And artists leaving in and of itself isn't shameful as long as there's a reasonable purpose to it.

Its just... I feel some people leave for bandwaggonings sake, just doing it because everyone else is doing it, I dunno, internet life is in many ways still such a new frontier to me, as everyone does things for different reasons.
Sorry if that comment was rather out of nowhere, I have seen so many leaving journals from people who have made multiple before that I think I am just trying to wrap my head around it X3

I can hardly hold it against someone for wanting to leave FA given current events. There's a reason I used "currently" when describing my plans to stay.
My primary motivator to stick around is laziness. The primary motivator for most people leaving is that they don't feel safe, comfortable, respected, etc. here. I think it's weird to treat me like I'm the one coming to a more reasonable and principled decision.

I dunno to be honest, from the looks of things I don't think the fandom really has a perfect place to reside, FA is the largest furry art site, and definetly the most nown, and then theres all the others but I can never understand how people can pick one, I would love to see everyone in one convenient place, as a commissioner who likes to bounce from artist to artist it gives the most variety, so wwhen people scatter, makes it rather hard to find everyone. Guess thats just life though, maybe one day I will do the same, but really I will always be on the most actively used furry site.

Bah, the new kid on the block is so full of himself. Always riding his motorized scooter by my house cuz he knows I could never afford one, inviting me over to play video games I've never heard of on consoles I could never afford and have never owned, being an abstract metaphor for my class anxiety. New kid on the block is terrible. Mark my words, he will destroy us all.
