[When Casting Resin..]
So I bought a set of claw molds a few months ago, and my craft room will be ready to move into in the coming weeks. With that, I've decided that I want to try my hand at these molds. I've been looking into resins to buy and have figured almost everything out.
I want to use Smooth-Cast 300 as my resin because: no scales needed / 1:1 ratio / low climate issues. It just seems...friendliest?
I'm going to get Ease Release 200 for my mold release.
As far as pigments go, I'm a bit worried. I've seen a few mentioned and they all seem good but it's just a bit overwhelming deciding which to chose from! So-Strong seems to have the best color options but I've heard it doesn't mix well..Glow Worm powder looks rad for GITD effects.. and the Ignite ones are UV reactive, but they're apparently best in a clear resin (which Smooth Cast 300 is not).
I plan on making a 'brick' mold that will hold 15 claws. This way I'll have like..extras in case anything goes wrong.
Oh, I also won an auction last night for an Ed Head sculpting armature. It's the same kind used for fursuit heads, but I got it for almost $50 cheaper than retail. I'm really excited for it to get here..now I just need to find where I can buy balaclavas for cheap..
