been having drill bit issues!
So sorry about the wait on the recent blank sales
we've had some issues with all of the new drill bits we've been trying to use ever since the one I've used forever now broke in half finally. in particular. no matter how tight we tighten them in the dremel they wiggle like mad. and screewwwwwwww everything up omg. bad. anxious. terrible. can't get things done. Anyhow. I've been working sans flex shaft since ours like. got so hot the plastic covering melted off of the base of it so it was unuseable correctly anymore. that happened like months ago. and we've been using just the regular dremel with no extension. but I got a new flex shaft today finally. I'm crossing my fingers it all fixes it. also got some MORE new drill bits that are a little different on the end than the ones we've been picking up since my good first one broke in half. they've just all wiggled like mad. ANYWAYS
I got a new flex shaft for the dremel and yet some more different new drill pieces so hopefully they will work right this time! but everything has the hinges on them. just need to drill the holes. install the bolts. and then cut and hinge them!

Flex shafts require lubrication now and again, otherwise they can be 'consumable'
A steel collet, would be your best bet. Also, what are you using the drill bits for? Drilling specific holes or grinding material away? If it's the latter I /highly/ suggest acquiring some carbide auguring bits, as they will never dull, Can machine through just about anything (including granite) and last the rest of your life.

You're quite welcome for the recommendation. Carbide cutting bits are something used in the toolmaking industry, but outside of it isn't that known. It amazes me how many crafts people use HSS (High Speed Steel) and burn through bits like crazy, when there's such a simple and effective alternative.
The /only/ downside to Tungsten Carbide tools is that they are very, very strong - hence, brittle. They will shatter if hammered or dropped. So it's a good idea not to drop your dremel with a carbide tool in it onto a concrete floor, chances are if it lands bit first, it'll snap it in two.
I've been using them for over 30 years, and I still have one of the first ones I ever bought.
Its chipped and worn, but still works just fine on brass, bronze and any hardwoods, bone or ivory.
I actually use it with a worn aluminum collet in my ancient and creaky dremel.
Since it was sized for collets, it actually works very well.
They come in several shapes, but my favorite is the round tipped rod shape.
I use it for everything.
I believe you will find it works better than drill bits for cutting and shaping; but be warned that a new one may cut more aggressively than you are used to if all you've used before are drill bits for the purpose!
