Off to the vet [UPDATE x2]

[UPDATE #2 06-01-2016 7:55pm]
I just got the call about 20mins ago from the vet!
She said that the surgery went very well, and he did great.
As it turns out, the item obstructing his bowel was not plastic. Not by any means.
Instead it was a 'glow ball', one of those fuzz balls with the iridescent fibers.
I about smacked my forehead when she told me that. Because I knew exactly what she was talking about.
It was about two or three weeks ago, but my mom had been playing with Connor and Sorsha. Sorsha loves the glow balls.
However, when she was giving them out for them to play with, Connor immediately ate one. So, my mom immediately threw the rest away.
It had been long enough, we had assumed that he had passed it through his system with no issues.
But instead, it seems that it had become compounded, and wouldn't budge past the first 1/3 of his small intestine.
Connor... My stupid, adorable baby.
I shake my head in frustration and amusement.
Anyway, she said that she also palpated his tummy and found nothing, and checked the rest of his small intestine.
And everything is great. She said he bowels are very healthy, just a little distended.
She also said his bowels were QUITE HAPPY once the obstruction was removed. lol
He will be spending the night alone, in the cone-of-shame (since he's a licker). She said she will check up on him later tonight.
And tomorrow we will find out if he can come home, or if he needs another day to recover there.
He will also be on a round of antibiotics, because of bowel fluid leakage when she was opening him up.
And he's under a pain med that will last three days. ♥
I'm so happy. While this certainly puts me into the 'debt hole' even more.
I'm just glad he was taken care of. I don't think I'd be able to deal with it if he died.
We may have three cats, and I love them all. But Connor is my baby, my son. ;v; I want him around more than a year and seven months.
[UPDATE #1 06-01-2016 5:53pm]
Alright! So, as you all know I took my cat, Connor, to the vet this morning.
The place I went to is called the 'Boise Cat Clinic'. It's discount veterinary services.
The people there are kind and wonderful, and the doctor is pleasant and helpful.
She explains things slowly, and is up front about the costs. Something I very much appreciate!!
So, I took him, and she did the preliminary exam for him. She could tell he was quite sick, but kept complimenting him and me.
Saying he was very good (not trying to run away a lot), a very beautiful boy, and that he had good teeth.
Her initial exam didn't find anything, so she asked if I was okay with x-rays. I, of course, said yes. X-rays would help show if anything is in there.
So, she took him and did the X-rays, then took me and showed me all about them. She said, at the time, that she couldn't see any obstructions.
She did say, however, that his tummy is a little distended and his small intestine as well. Likely from a back up of gas.
(at this point the visit was about $258)
She then told me, that she would be sending the pictures to her radiologist to get a second opinion on them.
See if they could see anything she hadn't. And with that, I left. Went to get my mom's car which has been having troubles, and went out to eat.
While out to eat, the vet called, and she told me that the radiologist also hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary. Just the distention.
She then asked if I wanted to do labs to check if it was anything else, as well as if I would like to do an ultrasound.
I said yes to both. The labs to make sure he was healthy otherwise (he's quite young, so I figured he probably was)
And the ultrasound to really see if there was anything stuck in there.
(at this point the total for his visit had reached $730~ish)
Just a bit ago, she called again. I unfortunately missed the initial call, because I was napping.
However, I quickly called back, and she told me the following:
His labs came back great. He's a perfectly healthy cat, no other problems. The only thing he might have is mild asthma.
And this was something she pointed out in the X-ray stage. She's not overly worried about that currently.
However, she then told me that his ultrasound did actually find something, half way through his lower intestine.
She's not quite sure if it is a piece of plastic, as it seems to be round and is about a centimeter in diameter.
She did, however, say that it is obstructing his bowels. And is what is making him such a sick baby. ;v;
She was very glad that I brought him in today, because he is so young, and it's sad to see him so sick.
So, I gave the go-ahead to get him into surgery tonight. She's going to mostly be focusing on his bowels to get the item out.
But, she will also be palpating his tummy a bit, in case there's anything else stuck in there. He will be recovering, by his lonesome, over the night tonight.
She said she will call me after the surgery is complete. c: Which is awesome.
He may be 'cone-of-shame'd, since he has an issue with licking excessively. But we shall see. He may be able to come home tomorrow or the day after.
She said it depends on how long it takes for him to bounce back after the surgery. I also paid the initial cost for everything.
(current cost for everything $1000)
I will update with more later!
So, a few days ago, based on what my mom told me, my cat, Connor, ate some plastic.
Not entirely surprising, seeing as he likes to chew on it, though eating it is a new development.
I was worried, but hoped for the best that a bit of olive oil would help him pass it easily and with no fuss.
Well... no go. While he hasn't gotten excessively worse, he is very sick.
At first he stopped eating entirely, and would only drink water.
Then, over the last couple of days we've been able to give him little bits of food, but not a lot.
As such, he's lost weight. Thankfully he's be continually drinking lots of water.
I feel terrible for waiting so long, and I realize now I should have just immediately taken him to the vet.
However, I have made an appointment, and he will get the proper attention he needs to take care of this soon.
I both feel guilty for waiting and thinking he'd be able to just power through it like he has with everything else (including an extreme cold)
and relieved that he will be taken care of. Hopefully I haven't waited too long, though. :/ I don't want to lose my baby.
This will also put me further into the hole finacially... but you know what? At least he'll be taken care of.
It'll just take longer to pay off all the debt. lol
Also, I'm eliminating all of the plastic in my room. B|
That way he has far less of a chance of doing this again.
*rubs face*
Wish us luck.

While it's costing a lot of money, at least he's being taken care of!
And it's cheaper than it would be elsewhere. It's only just now $1000.
Instead of after the initial exam.
And they got the foreign object out! Which is great. Now he just has to recover!!
