INCOMING TRANSMISSION:
How long is too long to go without hearing from an artist you commissioned? I'm asking because it's usually after 3 weeks to a month that I start dying from curiosity and getting a little bothered if I haven't heard or seen anything. Unless I know that I'm going to be waiting longer than that due to a full queue or other previously discussed things, I tend to start sending little "hey what's up?" messages. Is that too soon? Is that being annoying and a shitty commissioner? What's you guys' opinions?

If you paid you have a right to a status update.

If they have a queue or trello I don't mind how long it takes as long as it is updated often. If you dont see a queue or any notice of your commission, sending a simple note asking your commission status is fine! You did pay your money for it and at least deserve an answer!

I hear you. But yeah if you paid in full, you have the right to know what's up. I do the same thing. Keep talking to them, even if they're not talking to you.

Have they been posting other art or life updates on Twitter etc?

OP
Not that I'm aware of. I'm not on Twitter.

Go to the artist's page and see if they have links to other networks. You don't need an account to see what they're posting.
