Back when I was a kid that boy would be over his parent's knee in a heartbeat! lol of course I think back then the parents would have been keeping a much closer eye on him to begin with! I hope it was an accident though and not as malicious as what it sounds, like maybe the kid got excited to see the fox and grabbed for it an accidentally pushed it. I know in the long run it wouldn't change facts but at least it would leave such a sour air I don't think!
And this is why I now support the idea that children under the age of 5 need to have a safety harness attached to their parents at all times out in public spaces. This should be mandatory. Violators should be fined.
OOOOOOOOOH NOOOOOOOOOOO! *does face paw* I know the artist stomped around at home in private and said just about every word known to the imagination. I BLAME THE PARENTS FOR NOT KEEPING THE KID UNDER CONTROL !!!!!!!!!!! SB.
Shoot the parents. The statue has already been killed after the kid got into the enclosure. (Yes this is a timely snark style response in light of other recent events)
Thing of it is I support putting kids who are under the age of 5 in a harness at ALL Times. Why? Because of events like this and the fricking zoo where a gorilla had to be shot to save a kid. The parents cannot be bothered to watch their kids anymore and NO one has the audacity to say any fucking thing. True story. I was in a 99 cent only store and had around 12 things in my basket and was shopping and these two little kids were running around the store, knocking shit off shelves and just being assholes. The mom (if you could call her that) was not even paying attention and when she saw what the kids were doing she LAUGHED! The employees of the store.. did NOTHING so you know what I did? I set my basket in the middle of the aisle and walked out of the store. No joke. I am not going to support a store that cannot reign in people or parents and hold them responsible.
Simply leaving like that will have no affect on that store or its policies. However if you write to the manager and the corporate office explaining why your not coming back, that might actually have an effect.
I have to call it as I see it - As with most situations along these lines, I must ask - where was the breeder? I won't call them (a) parent(s), since all they were doing by ignoring the child was being, well... a breeder.
Still, 3 days of work... I assume that none of the bricks were damaged.
That really sucks, but I'm just as annoyed at video's claim of it being worth $15,000.
I'm not saying it was worthless, but he still has all of the legos, which was the majority of the worth and thus has not lost any value, and he only worked on it for 3 days (which I must say, is an awesome achievement).
What if while making this, he accidentally knocked it over himself, and had to restart from scratch? Would he sit there and proclaim "there goes $15,000 down the drain"? I doubt it.
The statue was in fact $15,000 worth of Lego bricks.
And yes ,the dude did in fact forgive the family...not so much the parents not watching their kid, or the mall employees, but he forgave them.
The Legos were worth $15,000, and he still has all of the Legos, undamaged. That doesn't make the statue worth $15,000. The Legos were not destroyed, and the entire thing can be rebuilt in a couple of days.
Come back to me after something that took you three days to complete is destroyed within an hour.
Or maybe something longer. Say...all those photos in your gallery were deleted and the unlikely happenstance of every one of your backups dies as well.
Which is something that happened to me when I went to Jerusalem while in the Navy.
It's pretty obvious that those photos have no dollar value to them at all. The thing that would be destroyed would be the whole reason you took those photos to begin with.
He made that statue for that event. If you try to rebuild it afterwards it's just work to rebuild it.
There's one thing that you NEVER tell an artist if something like this happens.
Is he going to throw out all those Legos? Is he never going to use any of them to build something else?
I'm not saying that what happened doesn't suck. I'm just saying that it's not a $15,000 statue, unless the material he used is never used for anything else, ever again.
Gather up all the Disney foxes to teach him a lesson! Nick Wilde, Foulfellow, Robin Hood, Foxy Loxy (of the 1943 "Chicken Little" short), and of course, Brer Fox.
To quote Applejack, "Twilight, get my rope..."
Performed by the re-made lego statue. LEGO SNU SNU.

You can just do it again.
