Another Update
So, now that I've gotten over the recent events in my life, and actually have some time on my hands (I was busy pretty much thursday through today), I'd like to continue posting the little Teasers for my game that I'm making.
I've had time to think about where I want the game to go while in between the previously mentioned chaos, and I think I've got a good story going.
A few things to keep in Mind:
1. As I said in the last journal, I've stopped focusing on code, and am trying to get a story structure set up/
2. Because of 1, you can expect many more "Teasers" of the game, relative to the character options I chose in one of my previous submissions. I already have a few lined up to post, and will do so starting tomorrow.
3. Also because of 1, I'm afraid a playable demo is still a long ways off.
4. I do, however, have the "engine" set up, meaning once I get far enough on the story end, it won't be that hard to just plug-in the story structure I previously mentioned.
5. Here's a little "feature" list of the way the story is going to go (For the other features, see my other submissions).
-The first two to three hours of the game will mainly take place on one planet in one "universe".
-After that initial storyline, the game will open up a couple worlds you can go to. These will be where the next 8 to 10 hours of gameplay happen.
-After that, you will finally get the "Universes" part. Universes differ from worlds in that they not only have different worlds, but different laws as well. At this point in the game, several major things will come into play, such as magic/sciences not working the same way, and different rules of nature, such as the player's health and stats becoming converted to those that universe uses. In addition to this, early exploration of other Universes will be dangerous. The first time you enter another universe, almost everything you can normally do is taken away from you. You body is drained of power, most of your items won't work, and most of your attacks will be gone as well. This is due to the fact that the player doesn't have the necessary means to bring in the workings of his/her/its own universe into the new one. This is where most of the game will take place, and where the true game really opens up, allowing the player to explore many different places on several different planets each in several different universes.
-I'm not going to spoil this last part of the game, but let me just tell you right now, it's going to be really cool, and I'll probably bring in a ton of community support into this bit.
