Califur 2016 Re-cap

Survived the brand-new Califur!
This tiny con got a serious update! The new hotel and venue was among the most accommodating I've been to. Namely, a massive dealer's den with super-charged AC that keep us cool during some very hot Cali days, and ample free parking.
Despite the number of people at the con, the parking areas never filled up, and were generally right out in front of the convention center. Plus, decent food (read, not just Subway) was just a few minutes drive away. Being close to food was always a problem at Califur's previous areas. Now, if you did not drive to the con / did not have a car, it would have been a bit of a walk to get to the nearest food places. But the convention center did have a tiny snack/concession store, mostly some fruits, cold sandwiches and coffee if you were desperate.
The dealer's done was huge and was neither crowded nor hot, thanks to those massive AC's. Seriously, I think this building was used to house aircraft I think . Met several wonderful, familiar artists in that den, and met some new ones.
Special shout out to

Didn't have many issues at all with the con. I did not go to any of the panels, non seemed interesting. I was basically here by myself, the only folks I knew where behind the dealer's tables. Wish I could have hung out and chatted with each of you all weekend. Not having any friends and social groups to jump into was more a me problem than a con problem of course .
Certainly plan to hit the con next year, and I recommend it highly!

Sorry I missed you! Glad you enjoyed though. We were all happy for the air conditioning! Hopefully next year we might add another snack bar.
