Zootopia's out
I finally got to see it. It was super pretty. Loved the story, loved the characters, music was good. I'd managed to avoid spoiling myself on the plot n' stuff for the most part so I enjoyed the mystery/investigation aspect of it. Go out and buy a copy of it because great movies should be rewarded with financial success.
While I had already seen the movie in the theaters, it was just as enjoyable this second time.
I'd have to say that other than Deadpool, it is so far my favorite movie of the year. Just so much fun and with characters you can genuinely get attached to.
Rewatching it does help; I caught most of it the first time through.
SPOILERS.
But on second viewing I did at least notice that during the interview scene Judy brings up the whole 'it may be related to their ancestry' thing unprompted. Still kind of a shaky reason for the mostly pointless "they hate each other for a while" angle but hey.
I think I liked Deadpool more, simply because it was so surprising and daring, as compared to what Hollywood usually produces. As awesome as Zootopia is, it was neither bold nor innovative, and it was just really refreshing to me, to see a movie like Deadpool. Time will tell, as to what I think about both of them, a year from now. :)
