Regarding commissions, and decent behaviour.

So far, this is how I handled commissions:
I only take commissions from people I can contact personally and that know me personally.
I generally do not accept commissions that I will not like making, regardless of price offered. On the other hand, if I like the idea enought, I might even do the work for free.
I am not a professionist and I don't want to be one. Making models and improving my skills is something I do out of passion alone. If I have to be a slave somewhere, I prefere being a slave inside a factory, not a slave in front of a computer.
I ask for a very low price, from 16$ to 20$ per model and a render, plus 5-8$ for every extra render asked. Reason for that low price is that I know that my models are not professionally made, and asking for full price would be kind of offensive. Also, since I have a job and a real life going on, I tend to take relatively long times to complete my commissions. This is the same reason why I don't like queing up more than a couple of commissions at a time.
I ask for payment at job done, as well.
Also, since making models is not my first source of income, I am allowing people to delay the payment if they can't afford to pay me, and i'm usually very patient.
Of course, as it was bound to happen, someone took advantage and decided it was fun to pretend having no money, postponing the payment undefinetly. And as it was bound to happen, I discovered that this guy, instead of paying me, preferred buying doom and a couple of softair guns, all while continuing to tell me that he had no money. He even tried to commission me something else even though he never paid up the previous one.
... People, I expect we all are gentle and adequate enought to understand that this behaviour is upsetting, despicable, and is only bound to send me furious. I do not rant about the lack of income (as I said I already have a real job), but about the lack of honesty, taking advantage of someone's good will and gentle manners is just inadequate. To say the least. If you can't afford to pay me, or you are unwilling to pay, we can still discuss the matter, as long as you do not expect me to prioritize your... gift. But if you make an agreement with me and then decide not to give a damn for whatever reason, do not expect me to react kindly.
For now nothing will change in the way I handle commissions, I was actually thinking of opening up commissions on FA after I refined my skills enought, but if something like this happens again, i'll be forced to ask 30% in advance, and i'll double the price for my models, in order to cover up loss of times caused by dishonest people.
So, be kind to me, and do not turn me into another angry artist, please.
