To get a Puppy or Not to get a Puppy
Oh man
So my friend's dog had puppies
They're lab/border collie/rott mix
I met them today and HOLY shIT
I've been thinking during the semester about getting another puppy when the summer comes around, and now that it's here, I want one but I am having some doubts!
We have a rottweiler named Tony (OH- HE'S THE FATHER)
And he is a LOVE and he gets along well with other dogs- BUT he is 80lbs and we live in a small 2 bedroom apartment, LOL
So that's my main concern about a puppy
Is the physical space
The one I have my eye on is one of the smallest in the litter and DEFINITELY looks more border collie
Man I'm just torn right now

And we'll be fine!
A lot of outdoor exercise (daily) keeps them from wreaking the place and with crate training they won't ever take much space when they want to rest. The two adults know to stay out of the way and lay either under the table; or in a corner... and Olly will be trained the same, so I don't see any issues in the near future!
If you can provide enough exercise everyday; can invest enough time for both of them to be crate trained AND provide them a corner in your living room to lay in when they wanna hang out with you and you want them out of your way... I doubt you'll have many issues, honestly! <3
Hope you guys will figure it out!
My biggest concern is being annoyed by lots of whining and barking
Shane's biggest concern is money.
So I need to try to figure that out
And I can understand Shane's concern, we were really worried about it too.
Though; the puppy itself isn't too expensive in your case, and if you get most if not all supplies on ebay (if you start now you'll have it all before the pup) you can save a LOT of money. We got Olly's leash, collar; harness; etc on Ebay and it's all just as good quality as pet store's stuff!
Then your only concern will be shots and obviously food. But since you already have a dog, it'll pretty much just have you buy food a little faster than normal... doesn't seem to be terribly noticeable especially when the puppy is super young. Olly has about a cup of food a day... really not that bad! And Shadow has a cup and a half to two cups a day!
OF COURSE the possible needed vet visit with painful bill can happen; and having a second dog double the risk. And that's something you will have to discuss with him.
I sure hope you will; just feel free to hop on skype or facebook if you wanna talk about anything :)
Thank you.
