I only have 3 characters... I use to have more but couldn't handle having sooo many. o.o

but ill go back up to 3 eventually

I only really use or draw a couple at a time, ahah; usually ones who are more recently made or bought and speak to me on a more personal level at the time

I daydream all the little stories with my OCs all the time, it's how I develop them more and it's weird cos I'll replay the same situations or scenarios in my head to come up with different versions and it just goes on and on! It's really tough coming up with a full story and finalizing it though. Some of my Ocs and stories are still not fully figured out and I've had them for maaaany years! My earliest one being Blackearth who I created at least 10 years ago I think.

I think it can vary based off if you are an artist or not. For me, I can't afford 100 OCs because I would have to commission artists for anything I want for them.

That's true for some! Other times people may have Ocs with no visual examples, just something in their head X3

I have 11 currently.
I make up stuff all the time but I won't keep the character if I don't consistently draw them. Even my current 11 I don't draw all of them, but I hold onto them cause they still feel relevant.
Characters I've let go of I've done so cause they no longer interest me and I feel bad for ignoring them. Like cleaning your house/room of stuff you no longer have purpose/use for. Its taking up space where new things could go n be focused on.

Not like I completely forget them of course. So in reality I have more.

I'm incredibly picky, and not very creative myself. I can't come up with many designs or things like that but there's a few adopts I see and I can just connect with 'em, y'know? Like just by looking at certain ones I can immediately get a good read on the character, otherwise I just can't handle too many

Your comment to RioRioRioRio is really interesting. I also come up with scenarios and short stories involving my characters. I only have a handful of characters and seemed to have reached a steady number to stop at. I do have a few story-related characters I haven't drawn yet and some of my preexisting characters should be developed more.

My characters are generally bits of my own personality - aspirational or otherwise. So... not many bits to chop myself into. :)
