Just stumbled on this OC questionnaire and I like it a lot. It doesn't just deal with "What shows do they like?" and "What's their favorite food?" It's more psychological, which is the stuff I spend the most time developing.
So I'm going to do it with shadow. (an OC design ive used for years throughout multiple characters. this is my newest version of him and he is currently in a story called SOLD)
1: What’s your OC’s biggest insecurity and how would they react if someone pointed it out to them?
his biggest insecurity would probebly be his tattoo/brand across his shoulders. its marks him as a slave and was originally a brand but healed into a tattoo like mark. he hates being inslaved and told what he has to do and what he cant do. he would be hateful and even agressive if someone other then a fellow slave or someone in the slave trade buessness pointed it out.
2: If your OC wants to buy a firearm, what it might be for?
he actually doesnt like guns but if he had to hed go for something automatic. hes not picky on actual gun types.
3: Does your OC behave differently around different people, if so with whom and how?
yes. around most others he seems cold, heartless, emotionless and a general asshole who doesnt give two shits. however around his uncle mason he cant hide his emotions and acts like his real self wich is a bit playful, very sarcastic, and amuzing. he also opens up later on and shows his real side to rayvan, jake, alister, and the D4.
4: Would your OC want to involve themselves in humanitarian work ? If yes, then for what? If not, then why not?
he already doesn human work but if he had a choice hed want to do something like cooking, baking, or anything that requires food and/or creating. otherwise he hates humans and all there stuff
5: How would your OC generally react to someone being verbally abusive towards them for no apparent reason?
hed ignore it. unless it brought up his breeding, his family, or his slavery then hed beat them up XD
6: Does your OC have a realistic image of their own intelligence?
not quite sure what this means sorry
7: Does your OC have any irrational phobias?
not really. hes very fearless due to his line of work
8: How is/was your OC’s relationship with their parents?
he loved his parents. he treasured them and they treasured him. hed do anything to have them back.
9: Does your OC feel a pressure to achieve or are they content and calm with doing what they can at the moment?
shadow does indeed feel he has to achieve great hights and save all the other creatures of hell. he also feels he must stay strong so they have someone to look up to in there short lives.
10: Does your OC guard their emotions by being tough? If not how would they?
yes!!
11: How would your OC react to hearing they’re adopted?
he wouldnt beleave them then after being convinced hed shut down and either lose himself to his own inner demons and self hate or fall into a pit of depression from which hed never awaken again. he really loved and respected his parents. they are the only thing hes ever known to be real.
12: What is one of the most primary things your OC feels that is missing from their life?
shadow feels like he is missing a life. he is a slave and therefore he is property to someone else. in his eyes he doesnt even have a life and he is just an object or tool to be used and thrown away.
13: What kind of situations does your OC avoid the most?
talking about his short lifespan, his curse, his family, and his emotions.
14: If your OC gets into a fight with their best friend, would they wait for their friend to make up with them, or would they try to make up with their friend?
he would try to make up with the friend after waiting a while to let himself and them cool off.
15: Does your OC consider themselves a good person?
no
16: Is your OC good at giving others validation of their feelings and making them feel understood?
yes. hes very good at supporting others and making them feel like they have value and that they arent alone at all
17: Does your OC suffer of any mental health issues?
nope. hes a healthy young man
18: What kind of intrapersonal values does your OC have? (values about their self, what makes them feel like a valid person)
he doesnt have any.
19: What boosts your OC’s confidence the most?
his pride in his body and ability to get stuff done right.
20: Does your OC hurt others often unintentionally? If yes, how?
yes. if he is awoken while sleeping he will hurt someone without ever even knowing XD he also can sometimes point out things that shouldnt be pointed out or make snarky rude comments that hurt others.
21: Does your OC hurt others often intentionally? If yes, how?
yes. he pushes everyone away by either hurting them physically or mentally in any way he can.
22: How does your OC usually show affection? Are they openly romantic or more restricted with their affectionate emotions?
he is openly romantic and not afraid to kiss someone in front of others or hold them. in his eyes he cant be afraid to be open when he doesnt have long anyways.
23: Does your OC tend to hide something about their personality/essence when meeting new people? If yes, what?
yes. he hides everything and acts like a jurk so no one will get close to him
24: How would your OC react if they got humiliated by someone in a group of people?
hed play it off as if he ment to do it or it doesnt bother him. then hed get revenge later on
25: How would your OC process the grief caused by the death of a loved one?
through anger and rage and physical harm.
26: What is the most intense thing your OC has been battling with?
his inner demon/curse. his curse creates a speerate personality inside of him that would rather kill everything and everone. he constantly has to fight it back to stay in control. knowing one day itll eventually take over and kill all his loved one and then himself.
27: Does your OC practice any kind of escapism? If yes, what kind?
yes. training, swimming, or watching DVD's
28: How would your OC react if a bully stole their lunch money in high school?
well he first doesnt know what money is or does nor does he know what a high school is. he is an isolated being and doesnt know much about the real world. they way he gets anything is through special coins he reseaves after each succesful mission
29: How does your OC behave on the face of a conflict?
with sarcasim or with his brain. he uses his words to either rile the foe up even more so he can have fun fighting or to get them to shut up so he can return to whatever he was previously doing.
30: What makes your OC defensive quickest?
being called a monster. he knows he is but still hates being called one.
