Anthrocon art supply give-away

Hey everyone! I've got a lot of old supplies I haven't used since college and I'm going to lug them along to give away at my dealer's table at AC. This includes: textile ink, textile dye, printmaking ink, canvases, sketchbooks, etc. So please pop by if you're interested. It's first come first serve so Friday is the best day if you want something good :P

This might be the start of the oddest...and yet enduring Anthrocon traditions yet!

(I'd bring ya one, but I'm not sure what USA customs would have to say about importing fruit across the US/Can border)

I've always wanted to grow that, but I've never gotten the seeds to sprout. I assume that the fruit is frozen somewhere in the shipment and that is why, but I've never gotten confirmation of that.

Yeah, the seeds need not to have been frozen. Also they grow in extremely tropical environment and there's basically nowhere in the US that you can cultivate them.

Yeah I wouldn't expect fruit, but I have a large area inside that can support plants between 70 and 80F year round. I have a maple and some tropical large hibiscus plants in there... I now have a sea bean vine in there, we will see how long that lasts.

That's pretty good! I actually looked up durian seeds on a whim. Evidently it's a thing where scam artists sell 'seeds' that either aren't viable or you just never get your seeds. Because durian are just that awesome. XD

I remember once, trying to get durian seeds, I bought one from an Asian store in Des Moines, IA and took it back to my apartment in Nevada, IA.

I cut into that thing and tried to eat some, but I couldn't... those thioesters man. I actually had to leave for several hours while my apartment aired out :P

I did end up getting some durian flavored candy once or thrice. That's certainly not bad. :D

Oh, also, I think that the seeds I collected, of which none ever grew, of course... were kind of heart shaped. Not like a <3 heart, but like a literal biological heart...
