The Birth of Ammy Star
Amethyst Star was born from a milky, nebula cloud overpassing a nearby galaxy. The silent planets floated motionless in a soup of blackness pirouetting their galaxy’s sun. The massive star was blue like a robin’s egg, and almost appeared cold as if lifeless.
A few stars formed shyly through the webbing hues of blues, greens, and reds. While all appeared tranquil as each infant star gently enflamed into small specks of light in space, a group of meteors loomed towards them, picking up speed as they reached closer and closer to their nursery.
With a brisk swipe, a rounded meteoroid bombarded into a dense mixture of gas, ripping apart the formation of a single young star. The meteoroid, at this point, gained even more momentum from the star’s strong stellar winds. Quickly it formed an electric blue flamed tail and caught into the gravitational pull of a nearby planet. Inside the burning rock, infused into its core, was the DNA remanence of ancient organisms. Which, in return would become the building blocks of a new creature in itself.
Hurling faster, the comet, engulfed in flames broke through the atmosphere of a rocky desolate planet. With a thunderous clap the comet collided into an enormous crater. Shards of purple crystals flew from all directions as the comet dove into a sky scraper sized cluster of amethyst.
Molten crystal oozed over the remnants of the now meteorite, exposing the ancient DNA to the planet’s atmosphere and minerals.
It was the reaction with the amethyst that caused an immediate growth of cellular activity.
Only after a few rotations around the planet’s enormous blue sun, Ammy was born. Full grown, gaining consciousness, she broke through her rocky molten cocoon, exposing the inner amethyst that housed her womb. Smaller shards crumbed through the cracks as she had punched and scratched through them. Wincing by the first sight of sun, Ammy raised her arm, blocking the streams of light. Slowly she climbed down. Her legs wiggled as she found a flat patch of dirt to stand on. Surveying her new surroundings, her thoughts raced, what was she? Where was she? What was her purpose?
She stood frail but alive. She resembled a combination of creatures, something canine and something primate. As she stared at her black furry palms, she noticed puffy, blue bumps. Her arms were black with strange blue circular patterns on her elbows and matching patterns on her knees. As she walked around the crater, she noticed her reflection shining smoothly on a flat elongated crystal. Intelligent enough to recognize herself, she discovered that most of her fur matched the crystals surrounding her.
With a white chest and belly, her markings resembled a fox. Her hair was electric blue, in a star-shaped bob cut. Her purple ears pointed upwards, ending with black markings at the tip. Pressing her hands against the smooth rock, she turned her head to examine her eyes. Around her irises were rings of blue and purple, both colors melting into each other. Her pupils instantly shrunk, as her heart-raced. Pushing her body away from the stone, she noticed the biggest and most bizarre part of her body; her tail. Instantly she learned as it swayed back and forth, it was under her control. This enormous appendage stuck out behind her, a black fluffy tail, with strange blue and white markings.
She couldn’t comprehend much of the situation as she examined herself, all she could feel was a pulsing sensation from every directions.
Running now, she instinctively crouched on all fours. Panting and growling she whizzed though crystalized tunnels and whirled across small craters. Amethyst was all she could see, everywhere it grew. As if taunting her, they reflected repeats of her fleeing body. All she could feel was an enormous amount of energy pulsating from her brain down to her paws. Panicking from the sensory overload, she ran faster than ever. Instantaneously, she tripped over a hidden rock. She flipped forwards, towards a deep crater. In a split second she dug her claws into the edge. Her legs dangled and flailed violent as she attempted to gain footing. Heart racing vigorously, she conjured as much strength to push herself upwards, but failed….
Falling, downwards, she watched the sun disappear from her eyes. She was losing everything, but what did she have in first place? What could she have had? What was she anyway?
Psshhh…Crssshh!!!
Ammy’s eyes jolted as she noticed her arms were spread outwards. Around her, amethyst engulfed her hands and legs. Deeply rooted, the crystal dug into each side of the crater, catching herself like a safety net.
What caused this?
Her body tingled, almost in ecstasy, she moved her hands and feet, the amethyst acted like an exterior exoskeleton, moving with her. She climbed forcefully upwards, digging her crystalized claws into the cliff. Amethyst shards floated around her, as if waiting to assist her. Climbing to the top, she took an enormous breath of air and passed out.
Only a few minutes had passed before she reopened her eyes. Slowly getting to two feet, she rubbed her arms and legs to see if there were any crystals on them. Nothing but fur. Was it just a dream? Did she fall asleep here? Pensively, she examined a small cluster of amethyst growing through a bed of rock. She raised her arm, doubting anything would happen, but to her astonishment, the cluster broke apart and raised to the sky. Pointing in the direction of her arm, the shards stood weightless, waiting for her command.
Ammy never felt more alive, it was her birthday after all.
