Apologies for the absence

I've been relatively gone and radio silent the last few weeks because i was, once more, in canada. Had a fantastic time, minus getting strep half way through, and i sorely miss it. I'm hoping for another visit in september, but we'll have to play it by ear i suppose~
In light of that, however, i got some startling news yesterday from my sister. My mom and step dad were at the gun range, and i don't know the details of what happened, but there was an accident and mom was shot. It luckily wasn't fatal, but it did go in at such an angle that it knicked her kidney and liver. News today is that she is stable and is doing good, so i'm hoping for a speedy recovery so i can see them next month.

Really hope that your mom gets better quick, and that nothing permanent happens to her!
People blame guns for many things, but it's often the users who are to blame for stupid shit accidentally happening... but I imagine this was a genuine accident, since I imagine he's probably a pretty careful guy around firearms.
Hope that the next weeks give u a bit of time to recover :)
