Today is the day!

Screw the hate, screw the drama, and screw Deep Silver's crappy promo video-
TODAY IS THE DAY TO BE MIGHTY!
I just got my key, and I'm looking forward to playing my game; a game that, despite upsets and delays, I still supported. I'm not gonna go on a whole blind love revolution or anything... Plenty of other people can do that for me, and probably already have. I'm just happy that, despite everything, I could help be a part of something big. Let people say what they will... The only thing that matters to me today is playing a game I've been waiting patiently for, and I know I'm gonna have fun.

Well, hope you enjoy it. I've been following it, and it looks pretty meh. But having fun is without a doubt more important. I've played (and enjoyed) some pretty bad games, so I'm in no place to criticize

Admittedly, it's not terrible. Given, I can see where it has some failings, and falls by the wayside when it comes to expectations, but it's still entertaining to play and gets a few lighthearted chuckles regarding some characters, like Avi. I say let Comcept use it as a learning tool, and revisit the spiritual successor business with a larger budget and without Deep Silver's involvement.

Honestly, what really harmed the game was the decision to do Unreal Engine 3. They'd made the decision prior to the 3DS/Vita stretch goal being met, and apparently had to go all the way back to a 2004 version of UE3 to make it compatible with the handhelds. Had they not made that choice and begun with it prior, they could have chosen something more fitting to all platforms. Honestly, 3.8 Mil should have been enough for this project, as games have been made on far less (looking at titles like Darkest Dungeon, around 330k iirc).

Sadly, I don't really know a whole lot about the Unreal Engines beyond some of the games I'd played which utilized them. I had hopes that it would turn out alright for all platforms, but well...yeah, you pretty much summed it up.
