Sissyfur terminology?

Hihi all, sorry for the radio silence again lately. I've been having more sleep schedule issues and haven't really had any energy to draw or interact much, but I'm hoping to remedy that soonish.
Anyway this is just something I was thinking about and wondered what others think. How does one define a sissyfur? The standard definition is basically a male character (usually cub) who is (willingly or otherwise) dressed in a very effeminate way, but I've also read that it can apply regardless of gender and simply refers to very feminine/girly characters (pink, ruffles, bows etc).
I've been sort of trying to explore my more girly side, but despite that I don't really see myself as a "sissy" and I kinda feel uncomfortable at the idea of having that term applied to me. I guess because even when I do feel more girl-ish, it's rarely the whole "fluffy pink frills/lace/bows" type of girly, but more of "pink skirtalls over a striped shirt" type of girly.
Idk, I'm rambling. I know it mostly just boils down to these terms being subjective and up to the person to choose how to define themselves, but I am at least curious how others view it.
Hope everyone is well and staying cool if it is hot where you live. ^_^

I tend to think of sissyfurs as predominantly male characters wanting to wear clothing that would usually be worn by females. Good luck getting a consensus on the term. x3 I think you've got the right idea though; it can mean what you want it to and in the end just enjoy your interests free from shame.

OP
I do agree, and I know it can be difficult x3 I mostly just wanted to get my thoughtfloofs out.
