Already the value of the pound has taken a nose dive, although I don't think that surprises anybody. I just hope that we benefit in the long-term from this decision instead of suffer xP
Dosnt everyone hope that we all knew the value would go down we even kinda took some euro value down with us it's up to us now to make sure we do well ain't got no safety net in this circus
Mhm, yep that is true, although we'll feel the drop harder I think. Who knows though, other countries might follow us now, which would mean the end of the EU.
They say it won't but who knows honestly I think it's being made a bigger deal than it really is but that highlights an issue with currency it's based on perception not actual value people will see us as weaker hopefully a short term thing but this will hurt us despite a largely political change
I say what I do since we haven't left yet we have a legal shitstain that's deliberately difficult to prevent leaving to go through our drop in economy happened based on our perceived value decreasing as we have said we want out
I supported the leave campaign.. We needed a change iv'e always disliked how its run. Originally we joined for trade, gave up the commonwealth market to do so.. Now its turned into some plan on making a super state? EU Laws?, trade restrictions?, european army in the planning? UK never really had a problem running its own country..
I can sleep easier tonight that my country is free.. I will admit we will struggle in the next few years as we attempt to adapt.. But in the long run i can see that it will make UK better regardless if Scotland will be apart of if or not.
EU Union has effected me at my workplace with this red tape they have set.. With trade restrictions.. Now that i can trade globally.. I find it more beneficial.. May take 2 years to have that priviledge but im greatful it can happen.
If we remained we'd carry on as normal.. And only London, the financial stock market and the pound sterling will be protected.. As i dont live in London.. Thats a shit deal..
I just hope the NHS survives, a lot of people (who actually need help) are dependant on it, like my dad with his Parkinsons
Besides that, I'm just gonna watch with popcorn to see what happens for the next 2 years~
I don't think they even have a plan as to what they'll do next
The EU is like Youtube; sure it's bad in a lot of places, but if you don't have a backup plan once you leave, you might as well be boned ;o;
The bookies said the odds were 5/1 for leave and stay so I don't think most of us expected the leave votes but the stay campaigners are bitching it's a fixed vote the leader we put in charge said fuck this I didn't want this I quit x3 gonna be rough but we used to be our own super power before time to get a backbone and buck up our fighting words
Personally I hope that the EU won't give the UK too many concessions. The UK decided to leave the EU so they have to live with the decision and the consequences.
That might sound harsh, but it would be wrong that they quit and still keep their advantages.
Sure they have, it's a EU trade zone and the U.K. Decided to quit. So they have to find a new deal with the EU. Also all trade contracts with other countries are not valid for the UK anymore since those where contracts between the EU and the other country.
There is no provisions for a forced withdrawal only the country in question can initiate a withdrawal and moreover no one expected any one to leave the agreement because it's meant to be a permanent arrangement hence the LACK of powers the EU has to boot countries out of it.
You're wrong. After a country declares their wish to leave the EU, the process of withdrawal starts. Within two years the country and the EU negotiate about the leave of the country. If they can't find an agreement the country forcefully leaves the EU and loose all rights and will be treated as a third party country. Without any access to the free EU market.
That's the problem, the UK hasn't Legally declared it's wish to leave yet. They can whine and fit until the cows come home the EU can do nothing to force a country out it has to be voluntary. Hence why Greece hasn't been kicked out yet, it's legally impossible.
the UK will most likely end up in European Free Trade Association after the talks, which is like being in the EU except you get no say in what the EU but at least the EU courts can't strike down your laws.
And why would it be like that? because Germany and several others are major importers of UK goods. Money beats all.
Okay then we missunderstood each other at this point. I know they haven't legally declared that, but for me it's almost sure (95%) that they will.
They maybe end up like norway, but then most of the promises of the pro leave parties will become false
Been keeping up with the news? With Scotland threatening to leave, the polls swinging, demonstrations, petition and pressure from EU, US and others, the odds of UK actually leaving is growing dimmer by the minute.

Hurray for Brexit.
