Workout Regime - Help please?

So. I recently started working out because in all honesty... Im a lazy person, and I want to be able to lift and carry my girlfriend like a baby. Especially if we get married. Im having troubles lifting more than 70 pounds and shes double that. Im 5'11, and I weigh 150 pounds and cant even hold my own weight. So im definately pathetic.
My question is... Does anyone here work out? And if so can you give me some tips? Ive never really done a workout regime and I just got a new workout station thing for a really good price. My goal is to increase my muscles and grow some abs on my flabby fat belly. (It may not be fat to yall, but its fat to me.)
Anyone got any tips? Should I work until I sweat my balls off?

do burpees for 10 mins, then rest for 1 min, repeat for an hour and do 1 hour a day

Well, that works, but i was more looking for a regime to do on my new workout station.
