Hehe, I do agree with you though. I really wish I got more comments too. But the fact is that most people are lamers and never wanna say anything about an awesome piece that someone might have spent a LONG time working on to get it just right. I might just give you some extra love next time you post something I enjoy tho since you asked so nicely ;3
Favourites mean someone liked your shit, why should it matter if they comment or not? wtf?
I'm pretty damn honoured when I get any favourites! Comments can be shitty, you know. :p
; o; yes! Unless you're really hard up for social stimulation and make a journal thanking ppl for faves. ain't doing that shit tho. Never seen that happen!
Same. Plus, I think that being too detailed about why I like the subject matter would be unsettling for most people (at least for sexual imagery) and go unread for being too long.
I know that feeling all too well. Faves are good but I love comments helps me improve especially when writing! I comment on everything I fav which is stuff I commission or gotten gifts for and just plain comment on other stuff.
I got burned out on faving or commenting for the most part. I got tired of being bitched at for faving without a comment, or for my comment not being good enough. I don't have the artistic skill to be able to break down an image and say what I like about it. Sometimes it's just that the subject matter strikes me on a certain day. Sometimes I don't know what to say other than "I liked this", which is what a fav says. I got tired of feeling like I had to "defend" my decision to fav something, or "earn the right" to fav things, so I withdrew. Now I rarely do either.
A comment doesn't need to be artistically sound, it just needs to give information as to why a picture is faved or why what someone thinks about it. That's where improvement comes from.
