Anthrocon 2016 -- A Quickie Day One Update
9 years ago
Good morning all!
I got into Pittsburgh and holy crap $10 to park! I drove up the the next open-air all day lot and same price, though when I mentioned Anthrocon he knocked it down to $9. Yay, a whole entire dollar, but when you're at a con on a shoestring you find out that every dollar counts.
I spent most of the con in the Art Show doing one thing or another. Took an occasional break to go to the Dealer's Den, picked up a couple things from
RozGibson and a T-shirt for my #2 sons birthday. Visited with some artists with whom I"m friends and ran into
shujintribble and chatted for a spell. Getting near closing I met
maxblackrabbit and
gnaw and got the picture I commissioned from Max 2 years ago!! Silly man forgot to bring it last year But I got it and it looks even better in person. You should see it in colo(u)r!
After 6 everything closed up and I went to Furnando's for my staff-freebie dinner, a 6" sub (steak and cheese), chips and drink. Now when I go to a place like this I always get the works, anything there is to put on a sub, I want. The moral of that story is that can sometimes bite you, this sub was LOADED! I ate the sub, then got a plastic fork to eat the salad that was on my plate from everything that fell out of the sandwich!
Back at the con I went to The Zoo and hung out with
campion for a bit before I had to go back to the art show for the Artists' Reception. Was hoping to meet up with Campion after that but I just had to get to my hotel (about 10 minutes away on the outskirts), got there pushing midnight. It's now nextday and time for me to throw clothes on and get to the con for the Art Show staff breakfast.

Most all day! Today I spent most of my day manning the badge check at the mature section, missed the whole fursuit parade :( And I'll be there almost all day tomorrow, come by and say hi!
