[help wanted] Successful patreon?
8') well uh...
Hi.
Mh.
I know many people don't like the patreon thing, so uh... please don't answer if you don't. I don't want to create drama, I am asking for help, not for people to insult me or a service they have no obligation to pay for. So yeah.
Now that this part is out of the way;
HELP???
My patrons list has been growing shorter, and I'm at a lost.
I advertise my stuff a lot, I keep the page well updated, and I don't use it as a paywall, only as a reward system! Even with that, it seems like it's just not working out as well as it could be.
What would interest you into being a patron?
What kind of rewards would make you go "Yeah, I want this!"
Now, before anyone suggests raffles or art, I'm sorry but I can't do either. Raffles are against patreon's TOS, and giving art kind of ruins the purpose of it, which is more of a tip box with rewards, and not a commissions system.
Right now I have
Early access ($1): See tings a month before I post things publicly!
High Res access ($2): Get the full resolution of everything!
PSD access ($10): See the stuff in depth, layers and all. (these are resized for protection)
I can't really post WIPs, seeing as I feel like these should be for the commissioner only, and I so rarely do personal art that is more than doodles, it wouldn't really be worth it.
But that's pretty much the only thing I can think about.
I also have goals (none of which I'm currently making enough for.)
The goals make non-commission art possible, as well as comics.

Perhaps a $5 would help, to keep things fluid.
And perhaps you can offer up a kind of suggestion system? For every dollar you contribute, you can get a vote in the "What do I draw next?" thing?
Its not a raffle, its a "who gets the most votes" System. Those who pay more, get more say.
And you can then use this for inspiration, and learn more what your followers and fans want, and want to see ^_^
Bend a little to public opinion, and I imagine you'll see an upswing in subscribers and their donation amount.
I actually have something of that idea in my goals rewards, but I don't have the goal reached to be able to do it.
But yeah in general I very rarely draw anything that isn't commissions, because that's my sole source of income, and patreon, if it was working, would actually be what makes me able to do other things at all.
I want to keep commissions and patreon separated
It does, however, rake in the patreon cash.
Could even make it multiple choice voting if you dont want weird peoples' ideas.
Cameo slots could be offered as commissions seperately, with a disclaimer that they wouldnt get to choose what they were doing.
