The Plan!
I am... Done being a janitor. Well I didn't quit, but I want to, I am sooooo sick of the way they treat me in that building..
I've been physically assaulted once there, by a fellow employee, and when I confronted them about assaulting me, IIIIIIII got a written warning for telling them off. No matter what I do they always find SOMETHING I "missed", once they decreased my pay because I missed a hand print on the backside of a desk that nobody could see unless they looked at a really obscured angle.. Boss is very vague, and is very confused on what the definition of "Arguing" is. Seems asking them to clarify what they mean is arguing, apparently. But the nail in the coffin was when I just got back from vacation, and they gave me a strike for not doing this "thing" in the lobby, something they should've told me about months ago but decided to wait until just now to tell me for the first time, AND STRIKE ME FOR IT INSTANTLY, no warning, just strike. So.. Yeah, next strike, I'm fired.. But I don't wanna give them the pleasure..
I've decided to stop taking them seriously, and you know what? Since I have I've been far more relaxed. Last 2 days I took my lunch breaks to head outside and just sit in a nearby garden. It makes me yearn for the ability to do so more often.
I miss being able to wake up in the morning, seeing the sun rise when I wake up as appose to when I go to sleep, and going out during the afternoon. I miss going for bike rides. I miss having time to both draw AND hang out with my friends. I miss not having to worry about needing to be somewhere. I MISS THE SUN! WHERE'S MY SUN!?
So I'm thinking I'm gonna quit and become a full time artist, maybe set up a patreon and stuff.
So anyway I'm going to be workin my butt off to finish this last batch of commissions up, the current people in the queue have been waiting so long that it wouldn't be fair to be like "Hey finally getting to you but SURPRISE price increase!" So, I'll be keeping my prices the way they were, but after this batch is done they'll be going up.
I wouldn't normally feel like I have to say all this, but I have been getting quit a bit of commission requests lately, ever since I started posting those recent sketches.

I'm sorry folks continue to screw you over and constantly blamed for everyone elses problems. Hell, if you still have proof of said person assaulting you, you could just easily call the police straight up and get an investigation started if your own 'management' can't manage it's own folks properly.
But regardless of all this, I do hope you continue to smile and be stress free, Ivan. No one wants to see a catfox frown. <3 I hope things work in your favor in the future bud!
Maybe we should seek out Knight Solaire and ask him how we can have our time in the sun. X3
In any case, it sounds like getting out of that job would be for the best. You're a nice guy who deserves far better than getting treated like trash, especially by asshats who don't value you as an employee or even as a person.
What I find funny is that I never had problems from employers/co-workers when working in factories, catering.
Shiftiest job I ever had was dairy milking, and that's because cows are savage beasts and farms stink like fuck.
Thats what i did before i joined the army, i worked in a small company, payment was a joke, you did worked more than in the contract and didn't got paid for it, some weeks before i joined he even decreased the payment saying he can't pay that much anymore... (The guy had a house and a nice Mercedes benz) and i said "allright i do it" and when he had a lot of work and he really needed me i said "screw you! i don't come anymore!"
I hope things turned well in your case afterward!
I decided to live from art after some extremely bad experiences at my previous works, including being beaten by the mom of a thief. One can resist only certain amount of bullshit before saying "not anymore".
Is still hard work, and extremely time consuming, but its really worth it, over all when you're doing it because you love it.
You can do anything you put your mind to. I am sure you will end up making more money as an artist, But i suggest not quitting your job till you are making enough money from artistry to live off of.
I've always said you're a pretty nice guy so with all your followers you'd make a nice sum.
I really hope your move to full-time artist will turn out well. You have great talent drawing-wise and a quite large fanbase, so i guess it's doable in your case. You definitely deserve to be able to live like this!
In all cases, good luck! ^^
Sorry to hear you're going through a bad time too
Typical job, make you feel worthless and then pays you JUUUUuuuuussssttt enough so that you don't STARVE to death...
...immediately.
Could be worse; you could be a normal person in China.
Sadly art doesn't pay what it's worth, and the people who appreciate it are usually the ones who have the time to appreciate it because we're poor.
Better than nothing though, AND you'll probably enjoy it a heck of a lot more!
So here's the deal... plan a meltdown. Write out a speech you're gonna scream at your idiot boss, practice it, wait for the perfect moment... y'know.. lots of people around, preferably HIS boss in the audience and let NOTHING Stop you!
Be sure to include SPECIFIC (and mildly exaggerated) problems he's caused, note the crap pay and the crap abuse.
If you have a bucket of mop-water, kick/throw it on him and DON'T MISS.
Be sure to finish with HE can clean up his OWN mess now.
I quit an abusive job like that once... it feels amazing!
...just... try to have something else lined up BEFORE you reach critical mass... even a little P/T thing to help with bills would be good. Hope this helps.
I wish you luck with your patreon plans and hope that you can continue to find happiness in your art and spend as much time enjoying nature as you'd like.
And wow your boss sounds like a prick. =(
As someone who has watched you for a long time, I hope I can commission you, I love your work and would love to help you and support you
