I need help looking for a labtop

Hello all! I need help looking for my next labtop. I currently have this http://www.microcenter.com/product/....._-_Matte_Black
My mom wants my labtop because the one I gave her is messing up and she has had it serviced a few times. I think it's ready to move on. Which means I need a new one. Went to bestbuy and I described what I wanted but the guy went way over my budget and assumed I wanted one for strictly gaming. So I thought, I come here for some advice.
I need it to have 1TB and be able to burn CDs. My dad and his friends prefer using CDs plus they pay me to make them so got to be able to keep that little side job going.
As far as other tech stuff, I have no idea what to look for. So if anyone has any recommendations that would be a big help.

and other things you do on it besides the hard drive and the cd burner. also if you want to stay with an intel I5 processor then head that direction but they are still about $100-$200 more than an I3
if you want to go cheaper then go find a Pc with a amd processor in it they are alot cheaper than intel
i personally prefer an intel processor more than a amd processor with the things i do

besides making cds, I do homework, watch videos, listen and download music. I rarely use it for gaming.
I prefer intel processor as well.

but Lenovo is out of the question for a cd drive but i found this one so far if your willing to buy an external cd burner its right at $700
