Honestly, I think it's showing you care, so go ahead if you want, you're doing nothing wrong or harmful.

I always thank others. even if it is overdone, you never know what it means to that person. I personally love getting such messages. That, and if you feel its overdone, make it your own. Personalize your thank you messages in stead of just "Tanks for the watch"

I disabled my shouts because I am sick of people thanking me for clicking a button. Sometimes they come to my notes to thank me and it irks the shit out of me. Me watching or favoriting your stuff is fine, I am showing you I like your work, I don't need thanks for it.

Personally, I would thank people. I would think they would appriciate it. (Not to mention some people might only have 13 watchers so every watch counts. [Or something like that.])

It doesn't bother me. I think that it's polite.

I guess it kinda depends. I've seen some accounts whose pages are just filled with 'thanks for the watch' on their shoutbox.

I watch people because I like their content, not because I want recognition for it. I'd say don't worry about it unless, as stated above, you'd want to personalize it to make it interesting.

Especially when you get more than a handful of watchers a day.
It gets tedious saying thank you to all of them. lol

If they say thank you, I just take it.

I honestly find it pretty toxic to reject it and take it upon yourself to throw it back at that person for a simple thank you.
Which there are some people that do that.

It honestly wore off on me, but I do thank those that i find interesting and that definitely doesn't include those with blank accounts.

It's annoying to me = n = It's a mark in my Comment section that makes me excited up until I realize it's a generic copypasta "thanks for the watch!"

I'd say if you want to thank them, then go ahead and do so. However, take heed to first read the person's profile to make sure nothing is posted there asking people to not leave thanks.

Yeah, I think you shouldn't thank people for watching you. They watched you because they like your art, not to do you a favour. Not to mention that it's really annoying to get messages whenever you watch somebody.

Everyone is different unfortunately as you can see from your comments it runs the gambit. I'd say you look at the persons profile page. If it doesn't say do not thank me somewhere on it then if you want to feel free. :) or just make a nice little sincere journal once in a while.

I tend to read the person's profile before I thank people for watches. It's good in it's own right to be polite, but for some it does become a bit of a tiresome routine for shouts to be filled with "thanks for the watch"

I'd really have to say it's circumstantial, and to an extent deals with who it is. if somebody has a note on their page to not, then perhaps not, and if there isn't a note on their page then it comes down to your personal preference. I personally don't like to leave a shout, but I don't mind when people do on my end. Perhaps what one said above, sending a note works, it doesn't linger on their page but it lets them know that you saw their watch.

Most people I see have even on their page that they don't want to be thanked x3
