Ding ding ding! And we have a winner! Woooo!
First of all, let me tell you how EXTREMELY hard this was. I was sure an idea would pop out at me right away and I would be able to say "Hell yes! That's the one!" But no... I had to go over so many entries again and again before I could pick a winner. I spent a whole week going "Okay... this one.... or maybe.... no THAT one. Agh.... but THISSS one, ungh!"
On total, there was a whopping 79 entries! Holy cow! Some people submitted one idea, some people submitted several ideas, there were even a few duplicate entries where multiple people came up with the same idea. I was able to narrow it down to 5 entries that really got me excited - admittedly if I had no life and endless funds, I'd have made the lot of them XD
But in the end, there can only be one winner, and the winning entry is "Full House" by Nibbolett; a group of 4 Dutch Angel Dragons with a playing card suit theme! These suits will be up for grabs in a new group fursuit project in the near future (more details to come!)
Honorable mention goes out to 4 additional entries who made my decision extra hard. They all look like so much fun to make T_T. In no particular order, honorable mention goes to:
Rave Raptors by Cargoreborn
Moon Phase Kirins by Royalty
Sushi Cats by Feve
Moth Rainbow by Synchra
I didn't really have any prizes set aside for you lovely honorable mentions, but your submissions were just so inspiring. I will contact you in the next week or so to send you SOMETHING for your awesome designs.
Winner and Honorable mention entries can be viewed here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20600712/
Thank you EVERYONE for taking part in this contest!!!

It strikes me that the winner and all honoroble mentions come with art refefence and clear character drawings. Where there any suggestions who havent such that did it high up in the list?
1) Their idea had to make me excited to make them. An entry that made me go "Oh wow, that sounds like fun to make" was sure to get points. Honestly some designs sounded really cool, but I knew would be a LOT of work on my end. I usually sell these group suits at a discounted rate, so I cannot afford the extra weeks of time some of the more complex costumes might have ended up being.
2) Their theme had to be concise and easy to identify at a glance. Some ideas were interesting, but the extreme variation in each character lead to questions on how they would look as a group
3) They had to have some uniqueness to them. Entries that were rehashes of things I had already done, or were based on just different colors of the same thing, or where multiple people had suggested the same idea did not make the cut.
4) Their idea had to appeal to a wider audience than just me. I may have loved an idea, but if I didn't think I could sell the remaining suits as a group, then it would not be worthwhile for me to select them.
As you can see, the winner wasn't the best artist, so clearly I wasn't choosing winners solely off artistic merit. A few people didn't make the cut because I liked their written ideas but did not like their drawn designs.
It just stroke me that some of my groups (like the Seven Sins) would had a better "score" if I had take the time to do an art reference of the group.
But with that said those groups looks really cool and I specially like Sushi Cats idea. Might have tried to get one of these if theyre where the winner.
