Nynaeve broke down in tears when he saw it. I stared slack-jawed and amazed.
Live Action Pete's Dragon! Just the trailer. But still.
His first ever Disney Book, and the first ever animated movie he ever saw, that he remembers. And one of my all time favorites too.
We're gonna go see that ASAP when it's out. >.>!

Although, technically, the original was live-action too, just with a cartoon dragon. Kind of like the inhabitants of the Island of Nabumboo from Bedknobs and Broomsticks...
I am disappoint.
It lacks any sense of whimsy or charm, the animated Eliot is less "charming animated goof" and more "demonic killbeast who looks like every other modern CGI demonic killbeast" and just from what I can see none of the actors can muster even half the charisma of Helen Reddy or Mackey Rooney. It looks like another overwrought high-drama action movie with car chases and explosions.
They should leave movies alone unless they are shot-for-shot remakes with just improved effects. Practical effects.
