I like cupcakes, so they can block my path any time of day! I don't exactly remember what the very first moment was where i went "Yep, that furry stuff is kinda rad!".Because as for many people it probably was a more gradual switch over a few year period, but i think finding deviantart while looking for dragon wallpapers for my desktop was sort of the very first step in that direction , even if back then it just kind of was "Cool art about animal stuff".
And ,i mean, finding the porn somewhere down the line probably was a big step too, not gonna deny that!

Hmmm! Tricky actually! I think his outlook would probably be a sort of quiet appreciation? He isn't exactly lining him up to join him into his personal pantheon but he can see the joy he can bring to Utunu's tribe and the positives that come along with that, good understanding of one another, a tight knit community and all that.

Being realistic here, it's probably somewhere between 3 and 3.5! Let's just say i wouldn't do well in a fight!

I don't really keep track of my time spent on each painting super closely, but i would say most of my painting take somewhere between 10~15 hours to complete.

I don't really know if there were any pressures really. My mum always just went with the "Do whatever you feel what you want to do" approach.

Father appeared to be more against it (though i haven't talked to him in at least 10 years, so i don't know his exact views) , but he withdrew the child support because i couldn't find a college to take me. But, eh, fuck him.

What drives you to keep going with your art?

I'm a pretty competitive person overall, so other artists are the bane of my existence and at the same time one of my biggest motivations! So that's a pretty big point, just the drive to get better in and of itself.
Also i'd be lying if i wouldn't say Money as well. It's my job, soooooo, possibly not having the money to pay rent also is a pretty good motivator to sit down and do work on those days you just don't really feel like drawing.

*tries to get away with two questions* What do you find to be the most difficult thing to draw, and what did you find to be the most difficult art piece you've done so far?

Oh, no limit on the questions at all! Even if you've got several dozen lined up that'd be fine by me!
Let's see, most difficult to draw. I mean there's probably a ton of stuff like Airplanes, space stations, futuristic cityscapes and so on that i just don't really draw often at all and so they're stuff i find difficult of course. But in terms of things that actually make me crumble because they're difficult and i have to draw them often? Feathers are kinda shite. Quadrupeds too. I think those are the two big ones that always come up when i need end up complaining about something to my friends.

As for most difficult picture....hmmm.... i don't know if i actually have an answer to that. It's rare that a picture doesn't get me to the edge of quitting honestly, so i guess whatever is my newest picture because the memory is still the freshest?

That's some hardcore dedication! I've had a few pictures which ended up being vastly beyond what I had initially anticipated, materials that I just wasn't satisfied with for ages. That's good to know that others face that similar struggle.

Haha, yeah, it's not always pleasant truth be told! So you're certainly not alone there!

Oh, like weapons that were actually developed during the middle ages? Or just generally anything they used at that time?

Pet peeves / annoyances from everyday? (Or from watchers / commissioners?)

I actually have yet to have a truly awful time with anyone around here. Yeah some commissioners request a little more changes than others or somesuch, but that never really is anything i get worked up about. So, not sure if i'm just lucky but so far all of my commission experiences have been pretty great!

As for pet peeves, a new one cropped up for me recently. Here in Ireland we decided back in october that 1 and 2 cent coins are garbage and we don't really want them anymore. So now stores can round round up or down to the nearest 5 cent step, which is great because it means less useless coins that you never have a chance of getting rid of! However them emphasis is on "can" , so you have stores that do it, and some stores don't ....and those that don't make me irrationally angry... especially if it's one that i just have to quick jump in and jump out of to get like a brand of butter the other store doesn't have or anything like that.

Are you much of a reader? If so, what do you like?

I don't read a lot of books unfortunately. I did for a while when i had a 90 minute commute with a lot of train time involved there, but since that stopped it's just very difficult to sit down and read. As for what i liked, really it was mostly pretty cheesy stuff. During the trainrides i got through a Warhammer 40k omnibus, some of the witcher books and all that. So stuff that's fairly close already with the whole gaming thing.
Have to admit that a good bit of my porn consumption is via stories though ^^; Quite enjoy them in that context!

Nothing wrong with that! I have a tendency now to collect books, as I can't say I get round to reading a lot of them! I agree actually, it is hard to sit down to read - I often tend to end up wanting to do something more active.

I don't really know Warhammer in any sort of depth unfortunately. Really the only insight i had were those 3 book collection and a few games. So, can't really answer that i'm afraid ^^;
But yeah, same for me with the wanting to do something more active. I blame videogames for getting that always engaged sort of thinking :P

Ah, that's okay! I haven't read any of the books, I just played the first Dawn of War games, and spend time reading the lore online.

How does it feel to be a highly skilled mastermind of art-making? Does it boost your confidence in your everyday life?

Not really unfortunately, really i feel more in the realms of an intermediate than anywhere close to a master. Would be a pretty great side effect though to just have a confidence boost like that!

Do you have any formal training in terms of visual art (or any other skills)? If yes, when and for how long?

I went to school until 12th grade, and would be allowed to enroll to a Fachhochschule, which is kinda a more practical oriented University in a sense, but also doesn't count quite as highly as a university.
11th and 12th grade were spent in a school with the focus on graphic related stuff, however it really was done in the broadest of senses, because it was the precursor to fields ranging from graphic design, to illustration to fashion design, and of course you still had the basics to cover, english, politics, math, german etc. So while technically i think it would count as art education, I can't say that it helped much at all in terms of actual art skills because of how broadly focused it was. A lot of it was the stuff you expect from art classes as well, interpretation of early 20th century modern art in context with the wars that were going on at the time and stuff like that.

Oh, here's one. What made you decide on FC of the variety of cons to go to across the ocean?

Well, first off i wanted it to be a bigger one. So that leaves me with i think around half a dozen or so conventions that i'd call major.
EF just didn't work out timing wise ( wanted to get a family visit done at the same time) otherwise that'd be the first one for the obvious reason of being close.
And then FC just was the convention of choice because it's the one which most of the people i already know attend, plus i've got a friend around there who'll let me stay at his place and roadtrip around there for a bit. So that'll cut down on cost for me as well.

Hehe, well still some time to figure that out i suppose! I did actually debate for a while to do some train riding during my stay there, so to pretty much make it a coast to coast trip via train over the course of like 10 days. But that unfortunately quickly became a bit too pricey. But part of that journey would've been the California Zephir to Denver, so if i was in your shoes i'd totally go that route of just taking an awesome train ride!

But then again there probably also are other considerations apart from which path to take to get there! :P

Haha, thank you but i really don't worry about it too much. Art takes a lot of time, so being single and just having my profession to worry about currently isn't entirely unwanted.

As for the fursona thing, that's actually the reason why i have him set in multiple ages. The tribal one is one where i can try and imagine how i'd act in very different circumstances (e.g. a tribal society), so that one is overall very close. The 18th century one is meant to be more removed from myself and basically the one to just fuck around with (not literally but in the sense of just doing whatever sounds awesome at that point in time) , and the modern one is actually pretty much an afterthought just because many people seem to have a modern one too. Doubt that one will get much screentime, but if it would then it'd probably also be pretty close to myself.

What's your favourite ice cream flavour? =3

Uh! Difficult! There are so many good ones and also different scenarios!I think just a good ol' Straciatella is pretty great! So if i'd just go for one quick plain scoop at the local icestand then i'd go with that.
For at home i really love the Mango sorbet that one store sells here! And if we go with more "fancy" stuff then i'm a pretty big fan of Banana split and Spaghetti Ice
