[Personal] Platform Games
9 years ago
I have probably previously mentioned that I am incredibly bad at video games, particularly platformers. I have no game literacy and poor reflexes. There are some really beautiful games that have been on my To-Play list for a few years, namely Ori and Tengami. Around this time last year, I picked up Nihlumbra and sank 12 or so hours into it, got stuck, and gave up intending to look up a Let's Play. (Because once I've sat there for several hours trying to figure out a puzzle, chances are I'm not going to figure it out without help. My record is six years, and that was just to figure out how to get past the opening screen.)
I finally looked up the solution. As usual, it is surprisingly simple, and also something that I have already tried but failed to accomplish due to poor gaming skills. Out of curiosity, I also looked at the reviews on Steam. This game is supposed to be completed in about 3.5 hours. It's been nearly four times that long and I am still not even halfway through. This is just.. Why must all the really pretty games be platformers? I am truly incompetent.
Art Status Update:
Trying to catch up on studying. Need to do Purple's thing, and then really want to do Magical Girl Eeveelutions in cute dresses.
To the People Who Don't Believe in Using Game Guides:
I want you to go out into the wilderness, where you have no internet access and no tools, and build a laser from scratch from only what you can find, without any reference material or other instructions, and without looking up anything about lasers before you go, because that would be cheating. Mine your own ore. Smelt your own metals. Blow your own glass. Do your own experiments to figure out how light travels. For people who already have a good idea of how a laser works and the archaic skills needed to make machining tools, this is a fun challenge that might take a few weeks. For everyone else, it's possible, but not within one lifetime. Tell your descendents to bask in the good feeling that comes from having accomplished something with almost no utility that could have been easily obtained by other more efficient means.

ALSO MAGICAL GIRL EEVEELUTIONS <3
I've been hoping to complete my beach girl eeveelutions someday so I really hope to see your theme come to life cause I love them in themes. ;w;
Even when I do figure it out, I have to look it up to see if that's actually the solution. I can never tell because it still takes me five or six tries to time the button pressing correctly. ^^; On rare occasions, I buy a game thinking I can handle it, and I am always wrong.
