Keep up with the amazing art spam! ♡
It bugs me a lot when people start trashtalking others... They got a cheap deal and now making trouble, a lot artists would have already blocked such people. A friend of me waits on some art over 18 months, my longest wait was 13 months, people seriously need to chill. We're all humans, everyone can have life problems and such. And when defending someone you're instantly a "white knight" this word should seriously be banned.
I commissioned quite a lot artists and everyone works different, Naomy is very cheap and has a big queue, of course the art isnt done the next day. I lost like 600€ to scammers and then people making a big deal because they have to wait more as a week of an 8$ commission...
-It's the disappearing and the failure to post finished commissions when she promised that we have an issue with. It's not the amount of time for them to be finished that's the problem, at least for a reasonable degree of time. She posted a journal, didn't post what she promised, deleted it, posted another one a week later, didn't come back for over 3 weeks until recently while we were wondering what was going on, came back and deleted the journal. I expected +200 commissions to take a while, just not the lack of actual communication and unfulfilled updates.
-Criticism =/= trashtalking. These are problems that everyone, including you, said are happening and we're just calling it out. If you think people are harassing her, you haven't seen real harassment. I can't speak for anyone else, but I've sent only 2 notes to her, directed a few comments at her, and done an annoying amount of arguing with some of you guys in the shouts. The only reason she's considering these changes is because people are voicing their criticisms. And if she's making the changes she says she is, she won't have to worry about this much after this batch of commissions.
-Telling people not to complain or post on artists beware if they want to is ridiculous. Don't tell us she's untouchable because she has so many watchers. If this is a pattern she consistently follows, then people have a right share their review of the artist or recommend whether or not they should be commissioned to others who want an opinion. People aren't "conspiring to take her down". I'd legit love to see her improve the way she works. But until then, I'm going to tell it like it is.
I'm not trying to yell this at you, but you keep saying this stuff, especially concerning the first one. I told that Vulfdrek dude (I think that's what his name was) in a conversation on that deleted journal and he understood. We're not being troublemakers, we just wanted to talk to her about getting things fixed. I hope you guys will realize that now.
1. I never said anyone was harassing someone. The childish bickering and bashing shouldn't be done. Complain once and then keep it to yourself, doing it over and over again is ridiculous. And if it needs to be done it should be done privately not out in the open for the whole world to see.
2. If one person wishes to report to AB then they can, telling OTHER people to do it isn't right. It should be between the person that wants to report not them telling everyone else to do it as well. Peer pressure.. peer pressure.
3. I have not ONCE sent a note to her, nor complained and this is the first time I have ordered from her. I figured with her move and her country the net is crappy. That and as I had previously said I have waited a long time for art from someone.
4. Criticism, is fine by all means it is. But when it becomes into complaining over and over and over again and the un-needed nonsense then it draws the line.
I clearly said I wasn't to white knight at all, I only know Naomy threw her art. I never called anyone a trouble maker, just to relax and let things come freely. I think that made me comment was someone telling someone to make the AB about her. If someone doesn't want to order from her again, then that is there right as well. I also never said what happened was right and gave her credit to doing what she did.
Just be calm and wait out the ride. People MAKE mistakes and as in her most recent comment she DID notice everyones comment and criticism and she said she is going to improve how she does things.
I don't want to get anyone angry or fight with anyone so please don't think that is what I am doing Positron. And if I did I am truly sorry.
2. Yeah, you're right. You should only post something on there if you yourself feel you should. What bothered me was that you said it wouldn't matter if we did. If someone wants an opinion on an artist and they look there it can be useful to them. I don't know if I'll post there or not, but if people ask I'm definitely telling how this whole commission went.
3. I still feel that we could have been notified somehow. I don't think a lot of people, including me, even knew she was moving. Like I said, I'll be patient, but I just don't want to be left saying "What the hell's happening? Wasn't that supposed to be posted tonight? Where is she?" and not find out for +3 weeks.
4. Believe me, I'm tired of talking about it. But people keep saying the one's complaining are whining because it's taking too long and that we're trying to make trouble. It's really annoying to have what you're saying be twisted like that when I said multiple times, including the post you just replied to, that it's about the disappearing and the missed updates.
And that post wasn't specifically for you anyways. I'm just trying to explain things and tell people not to twist my words.
But the thing is that it's been a pattern that she's been following for a while based on what I've found. The purpose of us speaking up was to get her to change things, which so far seems like it's moving in the right direction. But we'll see.
And don't worry about it dude. I'm not mad at all.
Naomy is a business, no different to those, just on a smaller scale, but large for FA. What she does, and all those other artists who you've mentioned, are business transactions. She and they are not just some hobby artist or someone running a lemonade stand and should therefore be coddled. Especially not now that she's moved into handling thousands of dollars at once. And please, stop deluding yourself that everyone has just spent $8 with her. Most will have spent double or triple that or more. Someone in the comments on the vanished journal and was offering calm advice that she just ignored had spent $100 with her. It's particularly galling to me, also a commission artist who treats what they do with professionalism, and I'm not the only one that feels that way, to see her being coddled so over her poor and unclear communication, missed deadlines, shady and infuriating note and comment ignoring and deleting, and general haphazard business practices. Sony deletes negative comments on the Ghostbusters trailers and whatnot and they're a villain for doing so and I'm sure you'd agree that they were, but Naomy just wipes a journal of complaints, concerns, and advice, and not for the first time, and she's coddled and excused for doing so. Would Wolfynail be able to get away with doing the same, or Miles-DF? Was it hateful when Falvie ended up being banned two-three years ago over her own sloppiness and bad practices and then came back with a manager to help her and changed how she did things for the better?
Just as it takes complaints and repeated advice to get a bad business to change their practices, it seems that the only way Naomy is going to change what and how she does things, if people do the same and people thinking about commissioning her see those concerns. Not just on a little-visited website but on her main page. Its not hounding her, no more than you're hounding Amazon if you send a query to them or leave negative feedback on a seller's page, and then a complaint if its seemingly not addressed.
Naomy is a fantastic artist and the artwork she does is very good value for money and I don't think she's a terrible person, but she's fallen into a rut of bad practice. And if she continues taking these larger slot numbers and her service worsening, she's going to end up just like Falvie and there's a justifiable meltdown backlash against her. You don't seem to realise that a number of the comments that people have given her, myself included, have been just to advise and help her before she reaches that point. Its not just all 'Where's my art????' which I will admit can be a bit excessive. You yourself have left messages on her profile in the past, asking for updates and for her to read notes, and on the pages of other artists too, so to rail against others doing the same, perhaps more vehemently though, is a little hypocritical of you. And it's stupidly simple stuff she can do to improve, like just posting a quick five minute journal to explain what the status of artwork is, especially if she misses a promised deadline. Making sure her statements are clear. Not losing notes and references which is something she's also moved into doing. Perhaps organising a Trello so people can see what she's up to and that progress is being made and help keep herself organised. Life does get in the way sometimes, I understand that with commission work myself, and delays happen, but good communication goes such a long way. And yeah, people can just choose to stop commissioning her, I did myself after the last mess she got herself into, until she came back with promises and reassurances that everything was sorted now and communication would be improved and she'd provide regular uploads and updates. Then to show good faith and wanting to show that I supported her efforts in becoming a better working artist, I commissioned her again along with a friend who was equally as wary but I was like 'Oh, she's improving her practices and communication now, so it'll be fine', and now, she's slipping back into bad practices again and people honestly do want to just help her avoid them and just wish she'd show some evidence of taking them on board. But to say that because you yourself got scammed and there are other artists out there doing it that she should somehow be excused from valid criticism is just ludicrous and presenting a false image of how she goes about things and coddling her in a way that wouldn't fly with other artists and businesses.
Had been hoping to give them as birthday gifts when I got them nearly 2 months ago. XD
