A warning to Amazon users

Yesterday I was buying my mom a birthday present on Amazon & I got to the check out with the shipping options. They had prime, standard, & 2 day. I choose the standard & moved on. A couple of seconds later my phone buzzed to tell me I got an email saying I'd been signed up for Amazon Prime. Naturally, I got worried & checked my bank account. Amazon had charged $108 to my account for a year of Amazon prime. This was an unauthorized charge. I've never taken the Prime trial or signed on for it in anyway. Thank god I reversed the charge by going to settings & went to 'Manage Prime Membership'.
After talking to a few friends though, I've learned this has happened to at least 4 other people I know. So if you use Amazon, be careful. Because it seems like they're just charging people for a year of Amazon prime because they feel like it.
FA+

I'm using Amazon pretty much five times a month to buy stuff, got prime subscription and enjoying it.
Maybe because I'm on Amazon.it
Also, yearly subscription is 20$, not 108$
Are you sure that was started as prime subscription? Or some other purchase?
Nope, it was prime. Because it sent me an email saying I'd been signed up & the only way to get to charge reversed was to get a refund of my prime membership.
They also charged me an extra dollar separate from that for I have no idea.
