I think you make for quite a cuddly feline.. .. but I think you're feeling as if your being pressured as too generic in the fandom for your species.. you shouldn't feel bad about that.. even us scalies get that feeling from time to time.. *hugs*

I think you're just fine as a feline. *nuzz* I think you really hit the nail on the head there when you said that it's a problem of people only liking you for what you are instead of who you are. It's ironic that Furries would slip into the same sort of prejudice when they themselves are so often subject to it. Society in general gives us a lot of shit just because we're Furries--because of what we like, which isn't something we control. Yeah, we choose and control how much we go after what we like, but we don't choose to like it in the first place. Same thing with society's general treatment of gay people--it's caring more about what you are instead of who you are, which is totally brass-ackwards.

Be the Furry that YOU are meant to be. If you think that's a feline, then awesome. If you earnestly think that you're supposed to be something else, then more power to you. Just don't let societal pressures dictate YOUR decisions regarding YOUR life.

There's nothing wrong with being what you feel you are. I am a dragon, yet I feel foxes get all the attention, despite them being so plentiful. But I've never once asked myself "Would being a fox get me more attention?".

Just avoid people who are speciesists. If they have a problem with the animal you chose, then they have a problem with you. *hugs you tightly*

Every cat is special. There are no two alike in looks, personality or temperment. There is no such thing as a generic feline!!
