One time I was trimming my hair to get a particular hairstyle I wanted to try and I accidentally cut off a bit more than necessary on the back, so I had to shave it all off so it would even out when my hair gets longer again. I don't think a bald or shaved/buzz cut look works on me either, but you are certainly right that muscular people can really pull it off so well.
