now that marching band has started and at the same time, our theme is called "one" (not metallica btw) as in "one band one sound" is what my band director ALWAYS say. I play the tuba.... yes I march with a 35lbs. tuba on my shoulder and I weigh at least 128 and a soph. well this is day 3 of kickoff camp (mon-thurs) then the low brass (including tuba) will hav our own practice on thurs. for 2 weeks, then the actual band camp starts from 8a.m. to 5p.m. (almost a 10hr practice) mon to fri. with lunch at noon. our season lasts until october O.o basically my summer and fall is covered with nothing but band,band, oh and more band. we'll hav time when we will win (last year we almost went to state, we was on top ten thruout the season, we was 11th place. lost by 5 points from 10th) and we will hav times when we lose. if we DO go to state, we will get gold painted industrial nuts..... yes, we wear industrial nuts aruond our necks on a ball bering chain. here is our directors point of view. "even if we get loosen, we will always tighiten up.". our is nuts = nuts, chain = balls ( because the chains r small linked balls) and the clasp = boob...i didn't make this up, the joke was here before I was born..... its a ritual that the last day of band camp (which is family day) we get "nutted" and if ur a freshman, u can't put yhe chain on yourself, a soph or another upperclassman will nut u. like I said, the nuts thing was here befor I was born

well, this is my LONGEST journal so far. I hope that u cheer for the cougar pride maaaaaaarching baaaaand ( and yes, the multiple a's are ment to b there, the anouncers ALWAYS do that. and btw the cougar is our mascot) and hope that we will make state this season. I hope that I will try to put up to date events during the 09 marching season. and chwck out the "writing" journal above this
